"Ian, apologise for calling Jenna an underachiever." Ms.Rachel, our homeroom teacher in freshman year, scolded Ian after we got into a heated argument during Science class because Ian decided it was a good time to tease me again.

Ian glanced at me, his tone filled with no emotion as he apologised,"I'm sorry, Evans."

Ms.Rachel nodded before looking at me now,"Now, Jenna. Apologise for calling Ian... what did you call him again?"

"I called him Thomson's model of the atom because it was incorrect and useless." I muttered under my breath, without missing a beat.

"Yes, that." Ms.Rachel sighed, her hazel eyes filled with resignation,"Apologise."

I looked at Ian, my gaze focused on his freckles,"Sorry, Walker." I apologised, the words leaving a bitter aftertaste in my mouth.

Ms.Rachel smiled in satisfaction, an approving look on her face,"Now, hug it out."

"Ew!" both of us exclaimed in unison, our faces scrunching up in disgust.

"Hug it out."

I gulped, being afraid of her for a second, before Ian and I stepped forward and hugged awkwardly, both of us feeling disgusted at each other.

I think I'm gonna bathe myself in bleach after this.

"Good, since we resolved this issue, I don't wanna see you both in detention again just because you both think it's good to call each other names and degrade each other. You both have the potential to be a power duo if you learn to understand each other more." Having said that, Ms.Rachel left the detention room.

"Walkie-Talkie, this all happened because you couldn't keep your motormouth shut." I said angrily, taking a seat in the front row.

"Jenny-Hunny, this happened because you couldn't keep your motormouth shut as well." He mimicked me, adding a few words of his own at last.

"Nice, real mature." I sighed in exasperation, knowing this isn't the last time I'll face detention because of this idiot.

I think I'm gonna fail my last year of high school.

"Mom, Dad, I'm home." I announced my presence in an exhausted voice, removing my shoes and replacing them with my slippers.

I don't understand how most parents let their children wear shoes in their homes, my mom would abandon me.

I'm greeted with silence again, as usual. I sigh exasperatedly, walking to see if there is a note placed on the fridge as always.

Bingo.

"Jen, dear. Dinner's in the fridge, heat it up before eating, and don't forget to study. Me and your dad are working late tonight."
