As the night settled over the city, Alex found herself driving through the dimly lit streets, her mind consumed by thoughts of the case. She was on her way to confront Dominic, knowing that the danger was real, but her determination burned brighter than ever.

Arriving at the apartment building where Dominic resided, Alex steeled herself for the confrontation ahead. She knew she was walking into a lion's den, but she couldn't let fear hold her back. She was driven by a fierce sense of justice for Sarah and a commitment to bringing her killer to account.

As she approached Dominic's door, she could feel the weight of the moment. She knocked firmly, and after a tense pause, the door swung open to reveal Dominic's imposing figure.

"Detective Carter, what a surprise," Dominic said, his voice laced with a mix of arrogance and menace.

Alex met his gaze with unwavering determination. "I'm here to talk about Sarah Monroe's murder, Dominic. I know you were involved, and I won't rest until you're brought to justice."

Dominic's eyes narrowed, but a smirk played at the corners of his lips. "You have no evidence, Detective. You're just grasping at straws."

Alex held her ground. "I have enough to bring you in for questioning, and I won't stop until I have the truth."

Before Dominic could respond, the sound of approaching footsteps echoed down the hallway. Alex tensed, knowing that Dominic's men could be closing in on her.

But to her surprise, it was Jack who appeared at the end of the hallway, his expression urgent.

"Alex, we need to go. They're coming," Jack said, his voice urgent.

Alex knew she was outnumbered and outmatched. She had to retreat for now, but she refused to let this setback deter her. She made a silent vow to herself that she would not rest until she had the evidence to bring Dominic and his cohorts to justice.

Back at the station, Alex and Jack huddled in her office, strategizing their next move. They knew they were up against a dangerous adversary, but they were determined to see this through.

"We need to find a way to turn the tables on Dominic," Jack said, his eyes reflecting the same determination that burned within Alex.

"I agree," Alex replied. "We need to find a witness, someone who can testify against him. We also need to gather more evidence to tie him to the crime."

As they delved into their plan, a knock on the door interrupted their conversation. It was Mark, the man who had unwittingly been caught up in the dangerous web of the case.

"Mark, what are you doing here?" Alex asked, surprised to see him.

"I can't just run and hide," Mark said, his voice tinged with resolve. "I want to help. I want to make things right."

Alex and Jack exchanged a glance, knowing that Mark's bravery could be the key to turning the tide in their favor.

"Thank you, Mark," Alex said, her voice filled with gratitude. "Your testimony could be crucial in bringing Dominic to justice."

As they worked late into the night, piecing together their plan, Alex felt a renewed sense of purpose. She knew the road ahead would be fraught with danger, but she was bolstered by the support of her team and the unwavering commitment to uncovering the truth.

The next day, they set their plan in motion, working tirelessly to gather the evidence they needed to bring Dominic down. They knew the risks were high, but they were driven by a fierce determination to see justice served for Sarah Monroe and to ensure that Dominic and his cohorts faced the consequences of their actions.

As they closed in on their target, Alex knew that the final confrontation with Dominic would be the most perilous yet. But she was ready to face whatever challenges lay ahead, knowing that the pursuit of justice was a cause worth fighting for.
