Every time you said "I love you",
You made a promise,
Every time you said "I'm sorry" you broke that promise,
Every damn time,
Though, let me correct myself,
Saying sorry didn't break your promise,
The reasons you were forced to apologize did,
Oh, you thought you fooled me?
I know you never said sorry because you wanted to,
You said sorry out of duty,
You said sorry because you knew if you didn't, I would have an excuse not to forgive you,
In the end, I didn't need an excuse,
You did.
