"Shoot!"

I immediately pulled the trigger without thinking a bit about it. A loud bang went off and my body suddenly went flying backward, almost knocking me off of my feet.

Luckily, Jaxon had his arms around me so he held me in place, and instead of hitting the wall, the force from firing the gun pushed my body into his. His arms had a strong grip around me and I was so thankful that he was very strong because he prevented us from falling or injuring ourselves.

I grabbed onto him really tight as well and even snuggling my head into his chest, not wanting to let go nor move. I wasn't expecting to be pushed back somehow from using a gun.

"Are you okay?" He asked, his mouth close to my ears. My eyes widened when I realize what I was doing and I immediately pushed his hands away from me and pulled away. I took a deep breath with my eyes close and then reopened them again to see his gaze on me.

"Y-yes, I'm okay" I stuttered while trying to remain calm. I took another breath, my eyes landing on his face as well, however, I quickly averted to look below his face when a sudden thought had come to mind.

"And...you? Are you okay?" Those words left my mouth. A frown had all of a sudden made its way to his face as he stared down at me. Confused maybe?

I bit my lips, averting my eyes to the floor as I waited for an answer but gosh, does he has to make it so uncomfortable just to answer a question?

I mean he was still looking at me as if I did something surprising or whatever and I'm starting to feel uncomfortable by his stares.

"Yes, I'm okay" He finally answered after clearing his throat and looking was. I only nodded my head, my eyes still to the floor.

The place had then fallen into sudden silence but not for long because I won't let it happen this time and also because I had a question on my mind.

"So...how...was my first try?" I questioned, my voice quiet than usual. His eyes had instantly shifted to mines again and this time I looked up, our eyes connecting as I impatiently waited for him to answer.

"Well..." he began. My eyes watched as he turns his body towards the shooting range, his eyes going to one of the cardboard targets. "It wasn't bad at all" he finally answered while pointing to the cardboard target on the right.
