A day later. Nini yawned, getting out of bed slowly, and slipped her feet into comfy fur slippers and headed to the bathroom to get dressed for the day. After a quick shower, she wore this, and tied her hair up into a bun and headed down for some breakfast, greeted her moms and had her breakfast, scrolling through Pinterest.

Nini tried not to think too much about yesterday, sure she cried her eyes out, but she couldn't help but wonder. EJ really deserves a lot more than he gets, at home or at school. She wanted to call EJ to pick her up, but decided against it and didn't want things to be awkward. Thus, she texted Ricky to come pick her up, and waited in the front porch, for him. They spent more time together these days, considering the fact that he was in almost all her classes, and was her ride to school everyday. He pulled up in the driveway a few minutes later, in his Camry, and they drove to school, singing along to some Taylor Swift songs, like the old times. They walked to class together, but Ricky couldn't help but notice that EJ wasn't anywhere near Nini. Usually by now, they (EJ and Nini) would have held hands and walked to class, exchanging pecks now and then. She walked in silence, after talking to Carlos, Gina, Seb, Lucy and Jake, next to him, softly vibing to the songs in her airpods. He thought less of it and sat down with a sigh.
The most boring subject for the next hour... god help me. He frowned. Why should he learn about the past?
She noticed his frown, and smiled at him, across the classroom, and then turned back to the board. Ricky smiled back and laid his head down on the desk, not paying attention. Sometime later, his screen lit up, and he smiled to himself as he read the message.

His thoughts were interrupted by the bell ringing, which he was thankful for. Anything to not listen to a boring History lecture.
+ Lunch, East High. Paige and the others waited for Nini and Ricky to join them, as they chatted excitedly for the announcement of the new musical. Nini sat down with a sigh. Everyone noted that, but didn't say a word. Kourtney spoke up 'Nins, where is EJ?' 'I don't know.. somewhere.' she said, unenthusiastically. 'Wait, you're his girlfriend, shouldn't you worry or atleast know?' Gina asked. 'Not anymore.' she said, with a shrug. Everyone looked at her, except Ricky who was smiling to himself. 'Wait, seriously?' Carlos asked. 'Yup' 'When?' Seb, asked, in concern. 'Yesterday.' 'Oh, poor baby, are you okay Neens?' Kourtney asked, sympathetically placing a hand on Nini's shoulder. 'Yeah, I guess. He gave me a valid reason''Will you guys still be friends?' Big Red asked, to which Nini replied 'Yeah, I guess some couples aren't meant to be.' Ricky smiled even wider to himself once more, which was noticed by the entire gang, except Nini who was in her own thoughts.
They turned to Ricky, 'Whatcha smiling about?' Jake asked, to which Ricky replied 'What? Oh it's nothing..' They raised their eyebrows. 'I mean.. I knew they wouldnt last long..so I guess' 'You're right.' Nini said, to everyone's surprise, because they thought she had zoned out. A few minutes later, the whole gang randomly chatted, and joked. Nini stared at Ricky, deep in thought. He looked up from the lunch tray, and saw her staring at him. He stared back not knowing what to do.
