Chapter 21

Adelyn

"Adelyn! So good to see you!" Olivia smiles as we pull each other into a hug. "You too." I smile.

A nice looking guy around Olivia's age stands a few metres away. "Adelyn, this is Brian, Brian this is Adelyn."

"Nice to meet you." Brian says friendly. "You too." I reply.

"Come in." Olivia says as they walk further into the apartment. I begin to walk in but Ethan reaches for my wrist softly. He whispers, "He's kind of weird but he makes her happy so I don't question it."

I can't help but laugh. "Why?" I ask as he closes the door. "First of all, he eats pineapple on pizza." Ethan cringes.

"Oh god. It gets worse?" I tease.

"I know right." Ethan and I laugh as we walk inside. "What are you two laughing at?" Olivia asks. "Wouldn't you like to know." Ethan teases his sister. She rolls her eyes.

"Sadie, they're here." Olivia calls.

"Sadie's here?" I question. Ethan nods. "She's staying here while on break."

"Oh." I reply in return.

"Hey." Sadie smiles walking downstairs. "Hi Adelyn."

"Hey Sadie, how are you?" I ask. "Pretty good, what about you?" She asks. "Good." I nod.

Ethan walks around the corner to talk to his sister. "Hey, it's your birthday today. Right?" Sadie asks. "Um yeah. Please don't tell Ethan though. I don't want it to be a big deal." I explain. Sadie chuckles slightly. "It's Ethan, Adelyn. He knows it your birthday."

I shake my head slightly. "He's forgotten. Which is good, I wish everyone had."

Sadie nods her head. "I won't tell him. Happy Birthday though."

"Thanks." I reply.

I follow Sadie as we walk into the lounge room. A few seconds later Ethan and Olivia appear. "So, Adelyn. It's your brother wedding soon, right?" Olivia asks. I nod in response. "Two days."

"Ethan, where's Isabelle?" Sadie asks as a whisper. Although it's not quite as quiet as she wished, as I heard every word. "Doesn't matter." Ethan mumbles before turning to his older sister.

"You and Brian, is that serious?" Ethan questions. Olivia rolls her eyes. "Yes, Ethan." I chuckle slightly at her response. "It's just he's-"

"I know, to you he's a little weird. But so am I. We're alike." Olivia shrugs.

"We like watching the discovery channel,"

Ethan and I cringe.

"We like eating Vegan,"

Ethan and I cringe again.

"We like to dress differently then everyone else but most of all, we both love each other."

Olivia can't help but smile at the last part. I look over at Ethan and notice he's already looking at me. It's only then I notice I was smiling the whole time.

Love.

It's something I've always desired.

And he knows that.

"I love the pizza place around the corner." I gush. "Oh my gosh, me too! Ulluseno's?" Olivia questions. "Yes, Ulluseno's!" I exclaim.

Ethan frowns. "You've barely spent time in Miami." I shrug. "Over the years, I've spent a day or so a year here. Maybe you don't know me so well after all, Orlando." I tease putting a chip in my mouth.
