"Do you want to die?"

Tayce and Jerry are presently stood in line outside of 'Beast' nightclub. The line was moving steadily along, but not fast enough in Jerry's opinion. "How long is this gonna take, I'm freezing." He says, hugging the sleeves of his denim jacket.

"Just think of the end goal Jerry." Tayce reminds him. "Project D." He says grinning widely.

"Shhh keep it down." Jerry says, looking round to see if anyone heard.

Tayce just laughs. "Jerry, no one's gonna know what project D is."

"Of course they are. We're stood outside a gay night club!" Jerry smacks him on the chest, earning an "ow!" From his friend.

Tayce now looks out to the street. He thinks he can see a familiar face walking down the pavement opposite. "Hey! Hey Max!" Tayce now shamelessly hollers across the street.

Jerry feels like he wants to internally curl up inside with embarrassment. "Why? Why are you like this? Please just shut up. People are looking." He groans under his breath.

Tayce ignores Jerry's plea for silence, still focussed on the male who seemed not to hear him. "Max. Hey! You in the leather jacket...I know you can hear me!"

Max who could in fact hear Tayce loud and clear had been trying to ignore the calls for attention, but now his identity had been singled out amongst the crowd for all to see, he felt obliged to go over to Tayce, if to do nothing more but to shut him the hell up.

"Do you want to die?" He says, now fast approaching Tayce in the line, then spotting Jerry next to him.

"Are you out by yourself? Where are you going?" Tayce asks, disregarding Max's previous question.

"I've just done a friend a favour and now I'm going home to sleep." Max replies, ready to be on his way.

"What a coincidence! Me too." Tayce chimes. "I'm here to help my friend too. Jerry here is desperately seeking D..."

"Tayce...please." Jerry says through gritted teeth.

Max's mouth curls into a smile. Watching the antics of these two sounded more interesting than the darkness of his bedroom walls. "You mind if I join?"

"Go for it." Jerry says smiling,

Max ducks his head under the black rope to stand with the pair, causing mutters from a few people behind. "Yeah?...like you've never done it!" He shouts over his shoulder, not caring about what they think. The mutters soon stop.

Around 20 minutes pass, the longest minutes of Max's life as he is subject to witness both Jerry and Tayce laugh, bicker and play fight like two toddlers on a day out. He now desperately needed a drink.

The club is busy, but not overrun. A cocktail of individuals were inside, all seemingly having a blast already. After ordering some drinks, they find a table to stand around next to the dancefloor.

"You see anyone you like?" Tayce asks, shouting in the direction of Jerry's ear.

Jerry scans the place, finally resting his eyes on the dancefloor. "That guy, the one with the skinny jeans and black shirt."

"You've just described virtually everyone in here." Max says smirking. Even Tayce had on more or less the same outfit.

"Him, him there." Jerry now without thinking, points to the guy who at that precise moment happens to look up and sees Jerry pointing a finger in his direction. He smiles and looks away.

"Oh my God! I'm gonna die!" Jerry screws his eyes closed in embarrassment.

"Yeah, die and go to heaven! C'mon!" Tayce now grabs a hold of Jerry's wrist, ready to take him to the dancefloor.

"Wait a minute..." Jerry picks up his drink and downs it in one before slamming the glass back on the table. "Ok, go!"

Jerry and Tayce now make their way to the sticky dancefloor. Max watches on as they begin to dance along to the music. Tayce positioning himself in a way that Jerry's back is to the said targeted male. He slowly moves forward, causing Jerry to naturally step back and he inevitably bumps into the back of the male, who turns around, a smirk plastered over his face as he sees Jerry in front of him. He wastes no time in moving in behind Jerry, who's face was a mixture of panic and excitement. Tayce now backs away a little, eventually moving back to the table where an impressed Max sat.

"Smooth Tayce, smooth." Max says slowly clapping his hands.

Tayce smiles at the compliment. "Thanks. He doesn't really need help though, he just lacks a bit of confidence sometimes. He's a little bomb. He could have anyone in this room if he wanted."

Max just watches Jerry as he takes a sip of his drink, who is now shamelessly twerking against the man's thighs. This doesn't go unnoticed by Tayce. "Are you interested?"

Max lets out heavy sigh. "It's toxic to date a work colleague, trust me."

"I wouldn't know, I've only ever been with one person." Tayce says, taking a sip of his drink.

"So Frank, he's your one and only relationship?" Max furrows his brow.

"Yeah, my first love, but I'm lucky though. He is perfect." Tayce says smiling.

Max looks at Tayce a little puzzled. "Is he? because it didn't sound like it the other day."

"Just forget about that. I was just being silly. I know he wouldn't do anything to hurt me." Tayce smiles at Max as if to sell his point.

"Tayce, no one is completely perfect, you gotta take those rose tinted glasses off." Max half laughs.

"I know that, but he's pretty close. He let me come out tonight. And look, he's messaged me like 8 times to check I'm ok." Tayce holds his phone up to Max, displaying text upon text saying..

Where are you baby?

Make sure you behave, love you

Don't forget me now

Don't come in too late

Max frowns at the texts. "It looks like he's keeping tabs on you and wait...he allowed you to come out tonight? What, is he your keeper?"

"Don't twist it!" Tayce says defensively, pulling back his phone. "He cares about me. He's just making sure I'm safe."

"Sure, ok." Max sighs. Maybe he was, but Max suspected that Frank's intentions were otherwise.
