I woke up and smiled but then my smile turned into a frown.

I didn't know how to feel, it's my birthday, I'm turning 20. But, Matt's not here.

It's fine I guess. He'll come back in two months. Two months... 8 weeks... 61 days...

I'll be just fine.

I stood up from my bed and just pulled one of Matt's sweaters I stole over my head.

I walked out my room and walked downstairs.

"Happy birthday! You're old as fuck now." Jade popped up out of nowhere and she had a party popper in her hands.

She struggled to pop it but when she did, it was loud as fuck.

"Our neighbours!" I gasped and she shrugged.

"It's your birthday. They should come over." Jade shrugged.

"I'm so old ew." I groaned as I slumped to the kitchen.

I sat on a stool and looked at Jade.

"You're the same age as Matt now." She smiled and I groaned.

"Don't talk about him. all it does is remind me that I won't be spending my most important birthday with my boyfriend." I groaned as I put my head in my arms.

Jade didn't answer which made me look at her.

I could see she was laughing.

"Is this funny to you?! Seeing me in pain is funny to you?" I asked and she just laughed louder.

"I can't." She wiped under her eyes of laughing.

"Stay here." She laughed.

I watched her walk to her room with confusion filling my face.

She walked back and looked to her right, behind a corner.

"Come!" She gritted through her teeth.

I looked at her confused and then I saw it.

I had a slight peek of the person standing there, it was only a tiny piece of a shoe, but I immediately knew.

I jumped up and walked to Jade.

I looked behind the corner and, indeed, Matt.

"Baby!" I smiled, basically jumping in his arms.

"Hey sweetheart." He hugged me back tightly.

Sweetheart?

I smiled as I pulled away and looked up at him.

"You're here!" I smiled. "I am!" He smiled back with the same tone in his voice.

I kissed him and he immediately kissed back.

I was startled when another person fake gagged.

I pulled away and looked behind Matt.

"Nick!" I smiled, letting go of Matt to hug Nick.

I hugged Nick and he hugged back.

"What are you guys doing here?" I asked as I pulled away.

"Matt's idea." Chris popped up behind Nick.

I let go of Nick and hugged him too.

"Is this why you muted yourself while we were calling and you looked so excited afterwards?" I asked as I stood back infront of Matt and he nodded.

"Happy birthday." Matt smiled, pulling out a card.

"It's very last minute. This is all I could do." Matt confessed.

"Yeah and we don't have shit, soooo." Nick dragged on.

"You didn't have to get me anything, but a card is well accepted." I smiled as I took the card from Matt's hands.

I opened it and started reading.

"Don't read out loud." The first sentence.

"Sorry guys." I shrugged and they groaned.

The last nearly 4 months, I've been happy of the small things you do
We got together exactly 3 months ago today
And I literally get happy by the smallest things you do
When you're getting ready and you have to put your hair tie on the right side of your counter and all your makeup EXCEPT your mascara on the left, your mascara always has to be in the sink, for some reason
When you tell me you love me, and you look at my face, you start at my left eye, travel to my lips and end at my right eye
I always notice you admiring the TikToks or reels about the slightest things; it could be a couple dancing, you'd look at the video multiple times to hint me you want to do that with me (we will soon, promise)
You got your Flynn Rider for this birthday and all of the next <3

My eyes got red as I looked up at Matt.

"Aww sweetheart don't cry." Matt walked over to me and wrapped his arms around me.

I sniffed and hugged him back.

"I love you so much." I whispered in his ear.

"I love you more, sweetheart." Matt smiled.

We pulled away and Matt cupped my face.

"3 months? That's insane." I sniffed.

"I knew we could do it." Matt smiled at me.

He wiped my tears and he blushed which made me blush too.

"I'm for real, tho." Matt mumbled.

"I love you so much and I never wanna leave you." Matt whispered.

"I love you too and I also never wanna leave you." I smiled back.

He smiled at me and kissed my nose before letting me go.

"Happy birthday, Cass." Nick smiled.

"Happy birthday." Chris smiled at me.

"Thanks guys. So happy y'all are here." I smiled back.

"what else can I say? let's get this party started!" I shouted and everyone laughed.
