E's Dragons

Deployed and fighting an opposing war - I assembled an army of dragons to protect you. Who knew I rely on them to shield you from me too.

The battle cries were calling and I would disappear with no warning - the abandonment weighing heavily on my mind.

White flags are waved and I find my way back. I have no medal of honor as this is no victory - the war is far from over.

Intrinsically you heal my wounds as I regain my ground. In my silence, you have questions I'm not willing to answer.

You are reaching for me - and I can't seem to find what you need, I must have lost it in combat.

I can't relinquish the fear that one day you might stop trying, realizing I should have been your guardian - not the other way around.

I'll ask those dragons to fly you away to a suitable realm, because you deserve so much more than to be my collateral damage.
