I ignored all the red lights
Stop signs
And sirens on the way

I ignored all the misdirections
Miscommunications
And false accusations

I ignored the way you chose to forget ocassions
Forget that you know me
And forget that you even care

I ignored the way you deflect all my questions
Blame all your friends
And accuse me of being controlling

I ignored the way you slowly drifted away
Thinking you were just tired
And maybe you just needed some space

I ignored the way you looked at me
Almost with shear disgust
Clearly with seven years of regret

I ignored the way you chose to ignore me
Chose to disrespect me
And chose another to protect your own peace

I ignored the death of my love
The way it got burried
And how your heart left many years ago

I ignored the blood on my hands
When I knew it was my fault
And how you smiled when you set me free

I didn't know scarlet was my favorite color
Until I realized
These were supposed to be warning signs
