Betrayal

Aprils POV

"Wait.. What?" I ask in shock.

He remains silent while giving me a pained look.

"Dylan Joe Lane! How do you know NW? And more importantly what do you mean they're waiting for us?" I ask fearing the answers he'll give me but I just have to know.

"I'll tell you everything you need to know but not here, we might wake your mate and the alpha up and they'd try to stop you from leaving and I'd really hate to kill them." He says and I feel a shiver running down my spine, not the good kind. I don't know this guy in front me he's cold and seems heartless unlike the happy caring Dylan that I have grown to love and care for.

I already know that he's working with NW because he's taking me to him, I just need to know the why..

Why would he betray me like that? Is he the one that has been sending the notes? How long has he been working for him? Did-

"We need to go NOW!" He almost growls ending my train of thought.

"Fine."

He opens the door for me and leads me into the dark forest, there are no stars out tonight and the moon isn't bright tonight either considering the fact that its a crescent moon.

He leads us back to the mansion and I start feeling guilty when I see it because I had promised Jace I'd see it tomorrow with him. Damn... Am I ever gonna see him again? If I do die tonigh-

"You're not going to die tonight." Dylan says.

Right! I forgot he could read my mind with the bond we apparently share.

We reach the gate and Dylan pays off the guards and they open the gate for us, there's a a car waiting for us outside and we get into the back seats.

"Dylan! How've you been?" The driver asks.

"I've been better." He says while scratching the back of his neck.

Its just the three of us, no guards.

"Why didn't you bring a guard? What if I decide to jump off this car and just run and disappear?" I ask.

"First of all, you came on your own free will."

"Its not like you gave me much of a choice now did you?" I interrupt.

"Don't interrupt me again! Secondly, you forget I know you and I know you're tired of running." He says and I just remain silent because its actually true.

I'm so tired of the threats and the running, the bloodshed and the secrets. Ugghh! I just want to know who I am, who my parents were and why they abandoned me. I want to know why the moon Goddess appeared to me and gave me a warning about being careful in my search for the truth "because I shall awaken monsters long forgotten."

I want to understand why Dylan is on NWs side but more importantly I want to know who NW is.

"He's my mate." He says reading my mind.

"Wait.. What?" I ask in shock. How? When?

"Yeah. When you accepted Jason as your mate its like you forgot about me, you spent more time with Jason and Esmeralda and I felt lonely. I was happy for you of course but I wanted what you had to. I was kind of jealous but at the same time I was so damn proud of you for letting your past with Jake go. I never said anything because I didn't want to make you feel guilty and plus I didn't want to be selfish and hog you all to myself but honestly I missed spending time with you and it being just the two of us." He says giving me a sad smile.
