Adrien pulls into the driveway in defeat. He does not say a word as he slams the door shut. He walks past his relatives and goes straight to his room. He sits on his bed.

"Mari, does my love mean nothing to you?" He mutters inside the empty room.

Adrien makes a mess of things. He puts the photo of the two together that is in a frame inside his computer desk drawer.  He closes it and locks it tight.

A few hours later, Marinette arrives home. She brings in her things with a soft sigh. She locks the door.  Once inside her room, she turns on the computer.  What can she say to him?

         Beep, beep, her phone goes.

"Oh, Alya, sent me a text."

Marinette smiles when she reads it.

         Marinette's text to Alya

I made it home safe and sound.

         Alya's text

Girl, why did you come home, so early?

         Marinette's text

       I have responsibilities you know.

         Alix's text

       Did Adrien hurt you?

         Lila's text

         what happened?

  Marinette's text

what makes you think something happened?

        Lila's text

Well, you did return rather quickly.

     Marinette's text

     No, Adrien was great.

    Alix's text

Hmm, then why did you leave him?

      Marinette's text

     I did not leave him.

    He and I are fine.

   Alya's text

Keep telling yourself that, and you will grow mushrooms on your eyes.

   Marinette's text

Alya, you can not be serious!

Adrien turns on his computer. He frowns. Why did he even bother?

Marinette made it clear she wants nothing to do with his affections towards him.

"How could I have gotten the signals all wrong?"

        "What, if she regrets us?"

Adrien takes all the pictures of Marinette and him and tucks them away.  He can not bear to look at them.  It reminds him of how she took his love and stopped on it.  At least he feels as if she tore his heart in two.  He wishes he did not care so much.

  Alya's text

  Girl, I am serious.

Did he respond to your text?

  Marinette's text

   What text?
