Book two of Forgotten series.~~~~Shey Lazera felt she was not destined to have a mate.

She had been rejected so many times she almost enjoyed the fire, the burning that covered her body. Each wave of fire separating her and her wolf, each wave chipping away at her wolf's spirit until she was barely noticeable anymore, her power diminished.

She was viewed as weak by the men she was mated to. With her wolf nearly invisible to those around her she was looked down upon as a muddie. A shifter whose wolf hides away from the world in the human side.

So it comes as a surprise when she trespasses in a territory, fucks up an escape attempt, and gets dragged soaking wet in front of another Alpha, who refuses to reject her like she wants.

Luka Sterling had been forced into the Alpha position after an accident killed his two older brothers and his father. He had taken up the mantle to take it off of his fragile mother but he knew it did not belong to him. He was a weak Alpha that had needed constant training just to be ready in case anyone tried to take his position. He was a weak Alpha with no true Beta or mate. He had been rejected once and that had been enough for him to not try again.

So he was more than surprised and more than irritated when members of his patrol drug a half drowned dark haired beauty with green eyes as cold as ice, into his office. He hadn't wanted a mate and his first thought was to reject her until she opened her rosy lips and demanded he do just that.Her demands sparks something in his wolf and rejecting her is now he last thing he wants and he demands her submission instead.

Shey helps Luka figure out just how much of and Alpha he was meant to be and Luka helps her learn just how much she deserves to be loved. And together they discover that strength isn't everything when it comes to being an Alpha.

It is within forged in fire we begin to read about the brutality of the shifter world.We learn more of the old ways and the damage it has caused many. We learn at times it is those who love us the most that cause us the most harm.They go out of their way to protect you to ensure you do not repeat their mistakes and doing so unintentionally destroy everything you were in the process.

Shey's mother had the misfortune of being born with the alpha's claim in a very influential family within one of the old way packs,Women are expected to be submissive. shey's mother is denied her birthright and is forced to run. actions taken in order to protect shey unintentionally left scars .  Shey is strong and unyielding

Luka is the third son of the previous alpha. Unfortunately as the third son his fathers time went into training his eldest two,After all What were the chances of losing 2 heirs? When his father and two brothers die in a car wreck Luka is forced into a position he was never trained for.all the while forced to watch the last of his family wither away from a broken bond.

Time and Time again we read about big bad alphas who happens to have the largest pack, nicest cars, every new toy one could want.

for once a author has wrote a character Who is not superwolf.you will find him fairly down to earth , frugal with the PACKS money believing the best use is the packs youth education,the book repeatedly emphasized he is weak.None the less he has his own strengths, He is intelligent and caring.no matter how much he is hurting he will not pass duties off on underlings.

Pain/trauma  come in many forms,everyone handles it differently. The title of this books i find appropriate both shey and luka were forged through flames.The author has a deep understanding of human actions and emotional trauma
