REBETTA CARMICHAEL IS NOT LIKE HER FAMILY.
She can be found with a book in her nose and wanting to expand her knowledge, unlike her family back home in Iowa City. In 1959, her grandmother Rose, who is a successful author moves her out to Vermont to attend Welton Academy, one of the country's best boarding school.
Problem is, it's an all boy school. She's a girl.
Realizing she got stuck on hell on earth, she meets a teacher who changes her perspective on how the world works, and meets a new found family who will change her life forever.
