ANASTASIA HAD WOKEN UP TO HOPPER IN A surprisingly good mood and Eleven...well she wasn't doing so great. Apparently, Mike had yet to call her like he did every morning and come and pick her up, it caused Eleven to feel confused and angry with her boyfriend, so she took it out on the doors. Anastasia was glad that at least Hopper was in a good mood so that she was able to ask if Steve could spend the night.
"Hey, is everything okay?" Hopper asked Eleven as she dialed the house telephone.
She didn't look at him, as she focused on typing in the number. "Yes." She had called Mike and then walked out of the room, disappearing into her own room as she closed the door with her mind.
Anastasia glanced at Hopper out of the corner of her eyes, she hugged him tightly around the waist as he handed her her cereal. "Dad, can I ask you something?"
"Sure, kiddo." Hopper grinned, just then Eleven walked back out of her room with a saddened expression, placing the phone back as Hopper addressed her, "Hey, what's going on?"
Hopper tapped his spoon against his cereal bowl and turned his attention back to Anastasia, "What'd you wanna ask, kid?"
"Could Steve spend the night?" Anastasia asked fairly quickly as Hopper's smile disappeared, though Anastasia added on. "And then, I won't tell Eleven about what you said to Mike last night."
Hopper's eyes widened in fear, "How do you know about that?"
"I didn't, but now I do know." Anastasia grinned like a Cheshire cat, "I am going to take that as a yes, Спасибо тебе, папа!"
She rushed out of the house, making her way too Scoops Ahoy, with a smile on her face. Anastasia was excited that Steve was able to spend the night with her, sure they had slept on the couch together, which never lasted the entire night and they did plan a lot of movie nights but they never planned something as bold as a sleepover, simply because both of them were afraid of the other's reaction.
Steve had dreamed of the day of which he could finally spend the night with Anastasia where she found the most comfort, and wanted the best for her to be happy. He was afraid of confusing her, he knew that he wouldn't be able to remain 'just friends' with her for long, but he also didn't want to ruin their good friendship, especially as Anastasia had never been in a relationship before it could have been daunting for her, he wanted her to be sure of it first before rushing into anything with her.
Anastasia on the other hand, was completely and utterly confused by her feelings for Steve and as she sat on the bus on the way to the Mall, she thought back to her life without him. She remembered it as being cold and dark without him, as though her life had no purpose other to be something to experiment on. She still had nightmares about what they put her through but with Steve beside her, he always managed to ease her nerves and take her mind off all the bad things.
