JUDE COULDN'T HELP but feel guilty. The past 3 weeks, he had been stuck training all day. He came home late at night and didn't have much energy to do anything at the end of the day.
Jia was always there to welcome home with a warm dinner or a filling breakfast. He felt guilty that he had been leaving her all day.
She still wasn't brave enough to explore the streets of Germany. The farthest she has gone was the convenience store down the street. She relied mainly on delivery to avoid having to speak in a different language she wasn't completely comfortable with. Not to mention, the stares she would get from being in the streets since she was now recognized as 'the girlfriend of Jude Bellingham'.
3 weeks of being cooped up far from home did a toll on her. Jude finally noticed her tired eyes after one night she accidentally dropped a cup and almost started crying.
Maybe it was a mix being on her period, being in an unknown country, and surprisingly missing Jude during the lonely days but the cup was the final straw for Jia. He notices it too. "Hey, hey, it's fine. It's fine." He whispers as he picks up the broken shards of glass.
"'M Sorry." Jia whispers through sniffles as she wipes away the tears that were trailing down her cheeks. "I'm just-" She lets out a deep sigh.
He quickly throws away the broken glass before wrapping his arms around her to pull her close. He runs his fingers through her short hair as she holds onto him tightly. "You don't have to apologize, Ji. I'm the one that's sorry. I-I should've tried to be around more."
"It's fine, I'm just on my period and-"
"How about we go on a trip? Get away from here and go somewhere together?" Jude quickly suggested. A smile appears on Jia's face as she lets out an excited gasp.
"Really?"
He couldn't contain the wide smile on his lips, nodding in reply. "Yeah, I can try to get at least a week off. We can go somewhere nice. Where do you want to go?" He asks. She shrugs in reply, not knowing where. "Hawaii? I heard it's nice."
He knew his answer when he sees her jump up a bit in excitement. She pauses herself before saying, "You don't have to do this, Ju. Really, I'll be fine."
Jude lets out a sigh at her reply. He had been confused for the past weeks. He liked Jia, he thought she was a great girl, and an amazing 'fake' girlfriend. But part of him couldn't help but wish they were something more. Ever since he met her, he felt something that was anything but platonic towards her. However, since only a select few knew about their fake relationship, he kept his feelings a secret. Even if it meant suffering on the inside.
"I do all of this for a reason, Ji." Jude quietly says. Jia furrows up her eyebrows in confusion, not sure if she interpreted his words wrong.
"What do you mean?"
"Let's go shopping." He quickly says, in hopes to distract her. He succeeded when her confusion was replaced by excitement. "Let's find some stuff to where to Hawaii this week."
Jia lets out an excited giggle at his proposal. "Of course! Let me fix my makeup and change, then we can go!" She stands on her tiptoes to leave a quick kiss on his cheek before running off to her room.
Jude couldn't help but smile to himself as he touches the spot on his cheek that she had just kissed. "What are you doing to me, Ji." He mumbles to himself as he walks to his room.
