Arthur POV

Purple particles moved around the training facility, pushing the wind mana in an atmosphere in an attempt to recreate one of the basic wind spells I learned from Jasmine. I got the idea of using mana in this way after remembering the way dragons use it. But needless to say, it wasn't as easy as it might sound like

Unlike dragons that can manipulate mana through their cores, I am simply unable to do that, which results in making every single one of my spells take much longer to form than it is supposed to

Even the most basic spell I was trying to perform now took me five times longer than it did back when I was a white core mage, which could prove to be fatal in the battles that were ahead of me

Compared to disturbing or taking control over already formed spells, this was much harder and far less effective in battle, but even so, you never know when it might come in handy - and if I really am to go and face Agrona and Kezess, I will need as many cards to play as possible

Seeing as the wind spell formed, I fired it, and to my surprise, it created a huge rift in the reinforced ground of my training room. The wind itself wasn't green as usual, rather it was completely purple, taking the pigment of aether thanks to the huge usage of it while forming a spell

Coming closer to the rift, I carefully examined the damage the spell caused, intent on concluding the power of my spells. Looking at it, I realized that spell cut far deeper than I could have imagined, easily digging through the mana-reinforced floor and the very foundation of the building, reaching down three meters beneath the ground

' ... I overdid it ' I thought, regretting the fact I tested this on the school grounds

' you sure did ' Sylvie said with a chuckle, content with my inability to control the power and output of my spells

" Yeah... it's funny when I mess up, but to me, it seems like you are not doing much better" I said, pointing behind her at the multiple holes she created while trying to master the same ability I did

Sneaking behind me, Sylvie punched me on the shoulder, breaking my bone while I wasn't reinforcing myself with aether

" Ouch Sylvie! It hurts" I said while turning around to look at her

Unlike her usual wheat hair and golden eyes, I was met with long and silky white hair along with two amethyst gems in her eyes that went so well with the golden runes on her body that it made me almost gasp in awe at the new godly appearance of my bond

"What's wrong?" she asked, looking at me with concern

" Nothing " I said while shaking my head " I am just not used yet to your Realmheart appearance"

She didn't say anything to my statement, but I could feel her embarrassment leaking into me through our bond. Instead, she focused on the rift I made, and after a moment of examining it, she came to the same conclusion I did

" While the output is slower, the power of your spell is on the level of a mage at the early stages of white core" she concluded

She emphasized the early stages part, as not all white cores are the same. For example, mages like Alea and retainer Bilal are on the weaker part, while some Wraiths and Chul are even stronger than asuras like Taci - though they are stronger than other white cores thanks to their asuran bloodline

That's why it will be important to break the course on all lances and let them progress in further stages of their cultivation. While it is great that artifacts given to us by Kezess helped us create white core mages, it also greatly limited their growth, or more likely completely stopped them from growing further
