chapter twenty six - en's mother

As En had told me, his mother is coming to my home this morning. Coincidentally, the weather today was also nice. Anyway, I haven't said anything about mother and father. Where have they been?

And grandfather, I haven't seen him for a long time, I haven't seen him ever since I first met En, which was a very long time ago.

For some reason, Aqua wanted to come a long, so she was just sitting next to me, talking about herbs in my room. En was just reading a book I recommended a few minutes ago.

As I was waiting, long and behold, a beautiful woman walked in with the housekeeper. En looked up, put the book on my desk and went to the woman, "Mother!" He said to the woman.

"Son! How are you? Is your career doing well?" She looked at Aqua, and then glared at me.

"Great, everything's going well."

"Why didn't you write letters to me?"

"I was too busy. I'm sorry." He told his mother. En's mother glared at me, En himself seemed to notice so he covered for me, "Mother, it was not Lady Fiske's fault, I was just busy for personal reasons, like school and stuff."

The woman just suspiciously glared at me and looked back lovingly to En.

"En, who is the girl next to Lady Fiske?" I heard her whisper to him. "She must be a great fit for you."

He glared at her. He mouthed, 'No I'm not.'

She frowned, and hit his arm playfully. I ignored the mother and son situation and found Aqua's confused expression, "What's going on?" She asked wonderingly.

"Oh, nothing. I don't know either." I lied.

She gave me a frown. "What is it?"

"Curiosity killed the cat."

"Ok, fine." She pouted. The woman with En seemed to notice and told En that she is the perfect girl. En kept refusing, after all, Aqua has other people.

In the end, En finally encouraged his mother to talk to me.

"Well, hello." She said in disgust. I bowed, and I raised my head, we met eyes.

She hates me like everyone else. I frown slightly. "Why, greetings, it is nice to meet you. You must be En's mother."

"Yes, I'm Frane Masumi, nice to meet you."

"Your son was a great, he's been a great friend. He's more than just a guard to me."

"Really?" Her eyes suddenly full of interest. I nod.

"We are friends." I smile. She seems to not hate me as much after that compliment slipped out of my mouth. She started to grin, and En beside his mother had no reaction whatsoever.

As I was about to call Aqua, she came over. "Hello, I am Lilly's sister, well, half-sister, Aqua. Nice to meet you!"

The woman happily smiled. At the end, the woman and Aqua had lots of things in common, and they became friends.

In their conversation, I heard En's mother say, "You should become my son's wife."

And, Aqua was sighing, "I am sorry, but I must not."

"Why not?"

"I have a fiancé." She lied.

"Really? I'm sorry dear,"

"No, it's fine." She smiled.

As En's mother was about to head home, she told me, "Do not dare to touch my son."

"I poked him before." I said. En chuckled. En chuckled. EN CHUCKLED?! En's mother widened his eyes, and it became akward. Soon after, En stopped. He became emotionless again.

In the end, the woman left shocked, not even reacting to anything anymore.

But still, EN CHUCKLED?!
