That's what the dictionary tells you. What it doesn't tell you is that desperation is the snake. It slithers in like a betrayal and squeezes the last of your hope.
It injects the venom of fear and watches as the will to fight trickles into your being.
And you stand frozen, mind running miles ahead of you. Conjuring images, mumbling apologies, begging for help.
That's how desperation dawned on me as I realized that they have taken her.
They wanted me desperate, wanted me to lose hope.
But that's the thing about snakes, you shouldn't expect loyalty from them.
They were playing so far ahead that they never knew when the game changed behind their backs.
Retribution shall be paid for every drop of blood shed and every trickle of fear.
It's time they realize why did the world shakes in terror, when the King decides to play
the judge,
the jury and
the fucking executioner.
