Chapter 16

Selena Artemis' Point of View

It's been three days after the ball and now was when the game's Selena die

"I told you dear few knights was enough"

"Leona..."

"Then can I also come along, mother?" I ask, the both of them look at me in surprise

"Eh.. Why is that?"

"Am I not allowed to?" I ask again avoiding the question mother ask me

"No, no it's just that,"

"Let her go, Leona"

"Jullius!"

"Countess Lian also has a daughter right? So I think letting her have girl friends was better than being her locked up in here"

"Fine"

"Then we will increase the number of knights"

"Fine"

"Then I will go and get ready!" I said before dashing off to my room

When I arrived at my room Sarah already prepared the dress that I order her to do so even the boots and my short sword was already ready I only need to do is to wear them

I wear a light pink dress with small brown ribbons on the upper chest in the center down the waist that was smaller and at the both end of my short sleeves, it also has a little bigger brown ribbon on the waist in-front

For the skirt, it has brown frames around that was adorned by cute strawberries with frills that was lighter pink than the dress. It also paired with a white silk and brown ribbon on the wrist

For my shoes was a low cut brown boots with high knee white socks. For my hair, it was half loose while the other half was tied into a cute pig tails with brown ribbons

While the moon stone? It changed its shape into a simple white gold ring that I always wear. As the moon stone has many functions and includes its shape changing and space where I stored my short sword

Oh! I haven't described my short sword right? Well it has a length a little longer than a dagger, the color of its handle was leather brown making it comfortable to hold with a green magic stone that was lined in the center of the blade from the handle to its sharp end. The divider that separates the blade and its handle has the color of silver and gold.

After taking a quick glimpse of myself in the mirror I dash out of my room and run straight outside of our residence where I saw father talking with mother outside of the carriage we will mostly ride

I also saw some of the knights that I think will escort us on our journey

"Mother! Father!" I called still running towards them

"Luna how many times do I have to tell you, don't run!"

"Sorry mother, I was a bit excited though hehe" I said cutely so my mother won't scold me

"Fine, Jullius we're leaving now" My mother said before stepping inside the carriage

"Bye, papa! Hehe" I said cutely again while I wave at him a little while smiling which he also returned with a smile and a small wave before I followed mother inside the carriage

"Hehe" I giggled when I saw my mother pouting, I think she heard me calling father 'papa'

"What's the matter mama?" I ask tilting my head while my forefinger was on the left side of my chin that makes her smile

She just shook her head before patting me

The whole ride was quite, mother was only watching me while I read the book I was carrying when the carriage suddenly stop and we heard some shouts outside.

My mother peeked at the window besides her and open it a little at I saw a knight trying to talk to mother

"What is it?"

"My apologies duchess as we have somewhat run onto some bandits"

"Oh?"

"But they are only few so the knights can handle them, so if it's fine we just need to deal with them for the moment"

"Fine but make it fast" my mother said before closing the window again and facing me, she smile at me then patted my head when she saw me looking at her

"It's fine, don't worry about it" mother said calmly

How the hell I would not be worried if this is the place where you died in the game! I purposely come with you so father has another reason to increase the number of knights! And the hell! Why aren't you worried? When here I am feeling like a stupid hero trying to save my own mother when I'm freaking scared!

Well who wouldn't? I read some reincarnation stories about girls who were brave enough to fight those kind of thugs but I am not!

In my past even though I am talented I'm still a normal girl in her teens!

Some moment later and the noise has started to disperse a knock was heard on the window besides mother

"Yes?"

"We are currently informing the duke about the incident and so we will continuo travelling while some of the knights will stay to guard the bandits while the messenger will ask for reinforcements"

"Very well then, still be careful" My mother said before letting out a sigh of relief then the knight that informed us slightly bow before leaving

Hm, so my mother was just faking it to not scare me more eh? I'm really stupid for thinking that I'm the only one who was scared

"I'm sorry, mama" I softly said enough for her to hear while my head was facing down

"What are you sorry for, Luna" She ask but I just shake my head still not looking at her

A tear escape my eyes when she hug me tightly

"I'm sorry" I repeated

"Shh.."

I cried louder while I let my body got closer to hers and I nuzzled my face onto her chest

"I'm sorry" the words that I repeated numerous times till I calmed down

"I'm sorry for only thinking only about myself"

Gosh I really took my time writing a new chapter

I don't particularly have any excuses of why it took so long to publish this but I was hooked with the novels/manga that I'm reading

And also I'm re watching anime
