Minutes Later....

The gynecologist came to meet Abdullah.

“Congratulation sir, your wife has given birth to a set of twins.”

“Thank you, doctor.” He happily hugged the doctor with tears in his eyes. The blood stains in his hand, stamping his fingerprints on the doctor’s white, lab-coat. “Are they all hale and healthy?! Can I see them now?!” He asked with tears in his eyes.

“Yes, sure... follow me.” The doctor ordered. They put the babies in a different cot beside me.

“She’s sleeping. Make sure she’s not stressed or tensed. Okay?” He advised and left from the doorstep.

“Okay doctor.” He blushed as he caught the view of my sleeping face.

Abdullah rushed to the babies, holding their tiny-tender hands. It was a boy and a girl, looking pretty identical, like white, hidden pearls in their seashells.

He smiled at them as tears of joy hung at the edge of his eyes, it was tears of joy indeed. Abdullah walked gently to their cots, placing his lips on their forehead, kissing them passionately, one after the other. It was a miracle. A rare miracle and their birth made him feel like a hero at the end of a movie... He was successful. Abdullah smiled again and again, wiping away his tears with the back of his hand. Of course, he had saved life a million times but this felt different.

Just then, his teary eyes caught me. He walked and sat on a chair behind my bed, facing me.

Abdullah softly touched my jawline and placed his lips on my forehead, in the same way like that of the babies. Feeling his touch, I gently opened by weak eyes to meet his gaze, then I saw his stained shirt. I closed my eyes and shivering in fear.

“...Please, don’t hurt me.”

He cradled me in a tight hug as tears fell from his eyes again. He stared into mine and I knew he was the one. My doctor... the one I could trust.

“Don’t worry, I’ll never leave you, ever again.” His voice sounded shaky, I wore a smile of satisfaction across my lips.

Everything looked so bright as I wondered where I was. Just then, I felt a kind of lightness and held by belly.

“Where are my babies? Tell me...” My eyes bewildered, and I looked soooo terrible asking that.

“They are here with us, my love. Your babies are safe.” He gently brought them to me. I felt so happy. Like a heroine, a champion. Abdullah brought them and gently placed them on my lap.

“I’m a mother... I’m a mother.” I blushed to myself unbelievably, my tears dropping on their fair faces. The wetness, waking them from their sleep.

“Yes, you are...” Abdullah silently muttered with tears in his eyes.

Thinking of how he met me and all the struggles I had gone through, Abdullah couldn’t help but to break down in tears. I smile at his reactions and wondered what his thoughts would be.

“Don’t cry doctor, It’s embarrassing. “

I ended up blushing again.

“I just realized how strong you must have been. I love your kind of strength.” He stared into my eyes lovingly.

“It won’t have been possible without God and you by my side...” I smiled gently and nodded at his words. “Now I feel like seeing my parents. I want to go back home.”

“Really?”

“Yes...” I replied as I held them in my arms. My breaths grew deeper, and I just sat down, staring at their beautiful, black, piercing eyes.
