once we're in the car, kit drives me to the address i typed into his phone. he listens to the robotic voice who tells him which turns to make and when.

"thank you again, kit." i say, running a hand through my hair.

"it's fine, eileen. i promise i don't mind. " he says in response. "but i do have one question. where are we going?"

"you're coming with me to the music studio." i tell him, "it's where i write and sing my songs."

"wait, seriously!?" he shouts, his eyes widening.

"yes," i say with a chuckle at how happy he is to simply go to the studio with me. that's when my phone vibrates in my pocket, reminding me of who i missed many texts from. "oh shit, i have to answer my manager. she's probably worried sick."
