Cristine never thought that her first visitors after waking up would be these two. Aya and Josh were in her circle of friends when she was still in university. Though after graduating, all of them were busy with their own jobs so they weren't able to hang out together again. They only communicated in their group chat.

Cristine laughed at the scene that just happened. But then the laughter turned into a groan. She felt that her abdominal muscles were hurting. She couldn't help but clutch her stomach. Worried, Aya hurriedly went to her side.

"Baobei, are you okay?"

"I'm fine. It's just that I haven't laughed for awhile", Cristine smiled, adjusted her posture and as if nothing happened, she turned to look at Josh and then Aya. "You came together?"

"Yes", Josh replied. He shyly walked towards the bed and sat on a stool, heads lowered.

Aya looked at how Josh behaved and ambiguously shook her head.

"Baobei, I have so much things to tell you but aunt said to take things slowly so I will behave well". Aya talked as she brought out the things they bought from a bag. Cristine looked at the groceries and chuckled.

"Ramen? Sausages? Coke? You came to kill me, right?", Cristine joked.

Aya laughed and shook her head. "Baobei, of course this is not for you. We still haven't had our lunch. We couldn't wait to see you so we decided to just rush to a nearby convenience store and directly came to the hospital. Of course, aunt already mentioned not to feed you with a bunch of useless things as you need to recuperate well."

Cristine thought, "You are indeed here to kill me. Kill me from hunger." Since she woke up, she hasn't eaten a proper meal. She had to take soft foods in the first week and even if she can eat solid food now, she always had greens. Now that her favorite foods are laid out, she couldn't stop herself from craving. As she looked at her friends eating their fill, she restrained herself and just swallowed her saliva.

Looking at her friends eating, Cristine reminisced her days with these guys. Aya and her are like soulmates back when they were still in university. They had similar hobbies, watching Korean and Chinese dramas. At that time Aya liked the sound of the Chinese endearment 'baobei' so she always called her friends 'baobei'. At first Cristine didn't like it but then she eventually got used to it.

Josh started hanging out with them because of a school drama project. After the project was done, Josh naturally continued to hang out with the group.

After the two had eaten, Cristine couldn't help but ask, "Uhm. When I was in a coma, did you ... did you drop by and visit?"

The two were startled by the sudden question and froze on their seats. Josh in particular lowered his head even more, not daring to look at Cristine. Cristine was surprised with their reaction. Seeing that the two didn't want to answer, she awkwardly consoled them. "You don't need to answer that. I was just asking out of the blue.", Cristine dejectedly said.

With the atmosphere suddenly turning awkward, Cristine fiddled with the edge of her blanket. Aya was the one who broke the silence. "We visited for a few times. But then, we stopped coming after you didn't wake up for a year already."

"That's reasonable", Cristine muttered. She forced herself to smile. Who would continue visiting a half dead anyway. Cristine was feeling sorry for herself and didn't notice Josh clenching his fist into a ball.

The second round of silence was broken by three soft knocks. The three of them turned their gazes towards the door. Aya was about to stand to open it but it was opened from the outside and a girl carrying an eco bag came in. The girl was startled as she didn't expect that there were other people in the room. This girl took care of Cristine for the past five years and was able to observe the decline of visitors she had. Her visitors declined until none came to see her, hence, she is surprised upon seeing Aya and Josh.
