Today I had to go to the towns local swimming pool.

The owners wanted me to do a painting for them in the front entrance.

I did the last painting when it was under different management. Over the summer they sold the place to new owners I still haven't met them yet.

I sat down at the kitchen table with a bowl of cheerios.

" Morning. " my dad said as he walked into the kitchen and over to the fridge.

" Morning. " I smiled.

" Your up early. "

" Yeah I have to go and do a painting at the pool today. " I smiled.

" That's a boring way to spend the weekend. " Dale said as he walked into the kitchen.

" You only find it boring because all you do is sit on your ass the days your off work. " I smiled.

Dale hit me in the back of the head, " Hey! " my dad yelled.

" What? " Dale asked. " It was a playful hit. "

" Still. " my dad glared before he sat down across from me.

My dad and I hardly talk and we don't really get along either, but he still tries to be nice to me. While Dale on the other hand just fights with me all the time and sometimes stands up for me, depending on the day.

Dale sat down beside me.

Our kitchen table was a very small circular wooden table that only fits four chairs.

" What are you painting? " my dad asked.

" I don't know yet they haven't told me, I haven't even met the new owners yet. " I said.

" The pool has new owners? " Dale looked at me confused.

" Yeah it got new owners over the summer. " I smiled.

" Why is it the first I'm hearing of this? " Dale asked.

" Because you don't go swimming. " I smiled.

Dale rolled his eyes.

" Anyway I should get going. "

I got up and walked over to the front door to put on my shoes.

" I'm taking the car ." I said.

" No your not, I need the car. " Dale got up and walked over to me.

" Take the bus or walk you need the exercise. " I smiled.

I grabbed the car keys from the small table by the door and walked outside to the car.

......

I pulled up to the pool and walked inside.

" Hi are you Emily? " a lady smiled at me.
