Alexis's POV:

"And so the Horse King and the girl lived happily ever after. Now, it is time for bed, all of you. Run along. I will be up soon to tuck you in." I pushed them towards their room. Blake and Juliet ran off but Glynda stopped in the doorway and looked at me.

"Grandma, you loved my mother, didn't you?" I nodded and she asked,

"Do you want me to be like her?" I sighed and walked over to her. I placed a hand on her shoulder and said,

"Glynda, I want you to be you. I do see your mother in you. You have her spirit and her life. Now, run along to bed." Glynda smiled and with a parting kiss on the cheek ran off to her room. I stood up and felt two arms circle around me.

I smiled and turned to see my husband. His black hair was tinged with gray but his green eyes were as bright as they had ever been. He never wore his mask any more. The people had accepted him and even made him their sheriff since his brother was dead. They no longer saw him as a threat. That had been years ago though and he had long since given it up to a younger man.

"How did the breaking go today?" I smiled up at him and he kissed me before smiling,

"Well enough. The horses were quite responsive. We should have the shipment ready in a few weeks." I smiled and hugged him. The Horse King was now a rancher. He broke mustangs like he had done for years and sold them to people who wanted a mustang. We were very careful who they went to but mostly ranches wanted them because they were so surefooted.

Erik took my hand and we walked toward the grandchildren's room. We tucked them in then retired to our own room. After changing into our night clothes we got into bed. Erik held me against him and said,

"What story were you telling them?" I laughed and said,

"What story do you think? Our's of course. They love to hear it." He laughed and said,

"I haven't thought about it much recently. Alexis, I am glad I met you. I love you." I looked up at him and said,

"I love you more." He chuckled and said,

"That isn't possible." I smiled and fell asleep in the arms of the Horse King.
