Chapter 14 :- Embracing The Murky Oblivion

Gouged,

The ocean.

Like deep wounds,

Parting in the wake,

Of the thunderous SeaSkimmer squadron,

Whose glinting bodies against the waves,

Left a churning froth in their wake.

Picture a dagger cutting through flesh. Gaping; monstrous.

So the eight SeaSkimmers powered on with viscious resolution,

The ocean streaked with foam, bearing witness to their speed.

Twisting,

Swerving aside,

Brave Su-Lin averted,

The hail of death;

The shower of tracer bullets,

Surging forth from the lifeless drones.

She corraled her SeaSkimmers into defensive positions.

Like sleek bodyguards they gathered around her aircraft,

Angry ocean waves relenting in the supersonic backwash left,

By their furious retreat from the calculating, bright eyed Azir.

"Come,

Let's play!"

Su-lin urged him.

And Azir he recognised,

The trap cunning Su-lin set.

And yet he concocted a plan,

To pretend to aquiesce to her jibe.

He dove down from his lofty vantage point;

A stream of condensed air left behind his Interceptor,

Shooting away his rounds at the eight SeaSkimmers before him.

One,

It fell,

From its position,

Just above the waves.

Crashing into the murky depths,

With such force and terrifying speed,

That the ocean itself seemed to explode.

Showering Azir and his unmanned drones with debris,

That sparked and glowered off their metallic skins.

Onward pushed patient Azir, his bullets sprang forth; hellbent,

Peppering the sea, rising pillars of water marking their demise.

Wary;

Eyes glistening,

Clear minded Azir,

Rounded on Su-lin harshly!

"You lead me out yonder,

Beyond the support of my comrades,

And into a sea of voracious enemies!

Only fools dare to tread in the darkness!"

Azir drove his squadron high, into the azure heaven.

"Here, take my bait instead, turn your SeaSkimmers on me!"
