Aria POV

“I can’t believe that we didn’t get to watch Game of Thrones last night.” Gray sighed as we sat down at the table in the cafeteria.

“We can watch it today.” I said, chuckling.

“We have to watch it today, A.” Gray said sternly. “You have a lot to catch up on.”

“It’s a show, not a school subject, Gray.” Gabriel sighed, making me chuckle again.

“It’s more important than any school subject.” Gray said, making Gabriel roll his eyes.

I laughed and shook my head. I looked down at my plate and started eating my lunch. I wasn’t really hungry, but I knew I needed to eat.

“Hi, Gabe.” I heard a familiar voice and looked up.

I saw the girl who bullied me stand next to our table, looking at my brother and smiling.

“Oh, for fuck's sake.” Gray mumbled, rolling his eyes.

“What the fuck do you want, Janet?” Gabriel sighed.

“I would like to talk to you.” Janet said as she glanced at me and narrowed her eyes. “Alone.”

“No.” Gabriel said sternly. “And stop looking at my sister like that. I warned you about that, Janet.”

Janet gave her full attention to me. She narrowed her eyes and crossed her arms over her chest.

“Do you realize that he broke up with me because of you?” she asked me. “You ended our relationship, you little home wrecker.”

My heart raced, and my palms started sweating. Were they really in a relationship? Did he really break up with her because of me? But why would he do that? I never asked him to. I would never ask him to do something like that.

“Janet…” Gabriel started speaking, but he was interrupted when Gray stood up.

“Listen to me, bitch, and listen well because I won’t repeat myself.” Gray said, clenching his fists. “First of all, Gabriel and you were never in a relationship. He fucked you a few times, and now he is not fucking you anymore. Second of all, leave Aria alone, or you will have to deal with me. I will do anything and everything to protect that girl. Don’t fucking test me, bitch.”

Janet stared at him, wide-eyed.

“Leave and don’t come back.” Gray continued, taking a step toward Janet. “And stop glaring at Aria from afar. I see you, and I don’t like it.”

Janet looked at Gabriel. I guessed that she expected Gabriel to protect her.

“What he said.” Gabriel said, wrapping his arm around my waist and pulling me closer.

Janet looked at me, and I tried to remain calm. I didn’t want her to see how scared I was.

Janet turned around and walked away, making a loud noise with her heels as she did so.

“Gabe…” I started speaking, but Gabriel interrupted me.

“No, Aria.” he said, looking at me. “We were never a couple. You didn’t break us up. And even if you did, I would be thankful to you. She is a bitch, and I would never want to be with someone like her.”

“Are you sure?” I asked quietly.

“Definitely.” Gabriel said, gave me a small smile, and kissed my cheek.

“Even if they were together, I would break them up.” Gray said as he continued to eat his lunch. “Janet doesn’t deserve my best friend.”

“Thank you, Gray.” Gabriel said and grinned.

“You are lucky to have me, Gabriel.” Gray said, looking up at him. “I saved you from so many bitches. You should stop thinking with your dick and use your actual head when picking girls.”

Gabriel placed his hands over my ears, like I didn’t hear Gray already.

“Not in front of Aria, Grayson.” Gabriel said, and I almost chuckled.

“You are not doing a good job covering my ears.” I said, trying not to laugh. “I can still hear you.”

Gabriel looked at me, rolled his eyes, and moved his hands away.

“She knows what sex is.” Gray shrugged. “I don’t see an issue. Unless you don’t want her to know how many girls you fucked.”

Gabriel grunted and buried his face in his hands.

“I don’t need to know that, Gray.” I said, shaking my head and chuckling.

“I wish I didn’t know that.” Gray sighed.

“Just stop talking, Gray.” Gabriel said as he moved his hands away from his face.

I laughed and shook my head as I started to get up.

Gabriel grabbed my arm and looked up at me.

“Where are you going?” he asked.

“Bathroom.” I said. “I will be right back.”

“Okay.” Gabriel nodded. “Hurry up because you still need to finish your lunch.”

I nodded, and Gabriel let my arm go.

I walked away, and I could feel Gabriel’s eyes on me until I turned right and walked into a small hallway that led to the bathroom.

I opened the bathroom door, and my eyes found one person I never wanted to see again.

Roger.

No.

My heart raced, and my palms started sweating. I could feel my throat close up. I couldn’t breathe.

“Hello, Aria.” Roger said, smirking at me. “Be a good girl and close the door, will you?”

I couldn’t do what he asked. I was frozen.

Roger sighed and walked closer to me.

I could feel the panic building up inside of me, but I couldn’t do anything. I couldn’t even breathe.

Roger closed and locked the door before bending down to my height.

“Did you miss me?” he asked as he lifted his hand and caressed my cheek. “I missed you terribly.”

I felt a first tear fall down on my cheek and toward his rough fingers.

His fingers weren’t soft like my dad’s or Gabriel’s. They were rough, and they burned my skin.

“Ah, here are the tears I missed so much.” Roger said as he wiped my tears away.

He smirked at me and leaned in even closer.

“I came to take you away, Aria.” he said, making my heart stop beating. “Your dad called me and told me that you’ve been a very bad girl. You sent him to prison. What kind of a daughter does that, Aria? You need to be punished.”

He looked down and placed a hand on my thigh.

No.

Please no.

I wanted to move his hand away. I wanted to run. I really wanted to. But I couldn’t. I couldn’t.

“Now, you are going to act again, just like you acted when you told the story about the abused little girl and sent your parents to prison.” Roger continued. “You are going to go home to that nice house of yours. You are going to pretend that you are angry at your dad and your brother. You will be a good little girl and sell it because we need them to think that you ran away. I can’t just kidnap you because I will have police on my ass. I mean, they will search for you anyway, but they won’t do it as thoroughly as they would if you got kidnaped.”

Roger laughed as he squeezed my thigh.

My heart broke into a million tiny pieces. I knew that my happiness wouldn’t last long. I knew that I didn’t deserve it. I knew that I would be back with my parents.

“You won’t say anything to anyone, Aria.” Roger said sternly. “If you do, I will kill that pretty brother of yours. I will kill your father. I will kill them without blinking.”

He looked into my eyes, and I knew that he meant it. He would do it. He would hurt them.

I couldn’t let him hurt them.

“You will leave the house at 8 pm.” Roger continued. “I will wait for you at the end of your street. Your dad gave me instructions on where to take you. He told me how to take care of you until he gets out of prison. We are going to have so much fun.”

He looked down at his hand on my thigh and back up at me. He had a smirk on his face, and I knew what he meant by that.

My stomach turned, and I almost threw up.

No. Please no.

“I will see you tonight.” he said as he stood up, unlocked the bathroom door, and walked away.

I could feel my heart in my throat.

He came to take me away. He was going to take me away. I would never see my brother again. I would never see my dad again. I would once again become the invisible girl. I would once again be lost.

Only this time, nobody would be able to find me.
