I woke up after another night of calling Cass. I hate long distance but it's worth it. I sit through my hours of classes and journal a bit before emerging from my room.
"Hey sweetie I was wondering when you'd join us" my mom says from the couch
"Oh yea. Uhm I actually wanted to tell you and dad something" I know it won't go bad. I came out as bi in middle school.
"Hey JJ come in here" my mom calls. My dad. He emerges from his office sitting down next to me "Gracie wanted to tell us something" my mom explains
"You okay sweetie?" My dad asks
"Uhm yea so you know Cassidy?"
"Of course sweetie" my mom says rubbing my hand
"Right of course that was a dumb question- so um meandheraredating" I spit out the last part and put my head down
"Aw sweeties I'm happy for you!" Dad says pulling me into a side hug
"CALLED IT" my brother says making his presence known making me laugh
My mom hugs me when by dad let's go "you two are the cutest couple"
"Thanks" I sniffle "uhm her and her mom invited me to stay with them for Halloween"
"I think we can make that happen" my dad says with a reassuring smile
"Really?!" Him and my mom nod "thanks so much!" I hug the two of them.
"What'd you say we order in for dinner! We're celebrating Gracie you pick!" My mom says
"Uhm Chinese?" I say
We enjoy the rest of the evening while I'm counting down the minutes to call Cass and tell her the good news. Eventually I wish my family a goodnight and call Cass.
"Hi cutie!" She says answering the phone from her bed in her pajamas.
"My parents said I can come for Halloween and that they are happy for us!"
"Yay I'm glad! I'll have my mom schedule with her plane when to pick you up"
"I get to use her plane?" I asked a little shocked
"I mean yea? If u want you don't have to" she says
"Nono I don't know I didn't expect that" I laugh
"Oh well yea and we might be in Rhode Island not New York we don't know yet"
We go on talking about the trip until Cassidy struggles to keep her eyes open and dozes off. I fall asleep not long after.
