5 Seconds of Summer :: Ron Weasley

Being a muggleborn wizard certainly has its flaws, being called a mudblood by Draco Malfoy and his little army of followers, but it also has plenty of perks including I get to keep in touch with muggle devices. My iPod being one of them.

For the holidays, my parents had sent a package that contained my iPod and it still had been untouched since the last time I used it. It was a basic model, with just a few songs on it, with one of my favorite bands; 5 Seconds of Summer. 

One day I was reading a book while having my earphones in, listening to the band's song Amnesia, and Ron- my boyfriend had come to sit beside me on the couch in the Gryffindor common room.

"So y/n, what is this?" Ron picked up the iPod, trying to discover what the small device was.

"Ron this is a muggle device called an iPod." I said slowly, his face contortioning into a face of confusion.

"A what?"

"An iPod, it has my favorite muggle music inside of it that I can listen to whenever I want." I smiled, giving him an earphone, he looked confused as to what it was.

"Put it in your ear Ron." I raised my eyebrow as he carefully put it so it was sitting on his ear.

"Mum told me to never put anything in my ear or else it'll get stuck in there." 

"Well Ron, you should listen to her but this won't get stuck, it's got a wire that connects it to the iPod." I pointed at the wire. 

I continued playing Amnesia, humming along to the chorus of the song. While still reading my book, until I heard sniffles when the song was over.

"Ron? Are you crying?"

"Yes, that song was so sad." Ron sobbed as I chuckled, putting my book down and embracing him in a tight hug.

"Aw Ron, here let me put on a happier song." I said, scrolling through to find one that was a little more upbeat. She Looks So Perfect seeming like a good choice.

"Here's another one of their songs." It started playing, Ron and I bopping our heads to the beat of the song, then the chorus came on.

I looked beside me to see Ron looking confused when they mentioned 'American Apparel Underwear.'

"Why is the girl wearing his underwear? Does she realize she could get sick from that?" Ron could be very childlike despite him being sixteen.

"Ron they obviously had sex and she put on what ever she could find." I laughed, rolling my eyes.

"I like this song, who sings it?"

"It's a muggle band called 5 Seconds of Summer, they're my favorite to listen to when I'm back home, but now I could listen to them all the time." I smiled.

"Dad's really gonna have a lot of questions when you come over again for the holidays." Ron smiled, before listening to a few more of the band's songs.

It was night time and everyone was getting ready for bed, as it was close to curfew. Ron and I had spent all evening listening to music on my iPod, and we were still lying on the couch.

"You know y/n, I have found a sweet escape when I'm alone with you." Ron said, speaking genuine, but the fact he used lyrics from a 5 Seconds of Summer song makes me chuckle on the inside.

"Ron you are my getaway, you are my favorite place." I played along but also meaning it at the same time.

We got up to go to the dormitories, right before we were about to separate to go into our respective dorms, Ron leaned against the wall and gave a small smirk.

"Kiss me, and tell me that I'll see you again." He leaned in and I gave him a sweet goodnight kiss on his lips.

"I'll see you again Ron, in the morning." I said, I turned to walk up to my dorm but before I could, I heard him mutter.

"How did we end up here?" 

I shook my head and continued walking up the stairs.
