You lied awake, unable to sleep and not even feeling tired. You had suffered a bad heartbreak earlier that day, and it took over you. You had sat in bed and cried for hours, you hadn't left your dorm for dinner or for any reason. You felt like you shouldn't show your face for a few days. You felt weak, like a baby even though the breakup wasn't your fault, you felt like it was.

You and Fred had been together for a year, just a little over. You two were the it couple at Hogwarts, everyone wanted a relationship like yours, but he moved on, and he told you that when he broke up.

A part of you was happy that you didn't find out by him pressing Angelina Johnson against a wall and kissing her the way he once did to you, but it still hurt to know that someone you loved with all your heart and soul didn't love you the same way anymore.

"I'm sorry y/n, I just don't feel the connection between us anymore, I feel like I love someone more." His words were like venom, you felt like you wanted to laugh at the prank that just went a little too far. Your Fred would never be like that, he was always the most genuine person,  no matter the situation. Guess you didn't know him as well as you thought.

Hermione, your dormmate had walked in after dinner, she was the first person you told about the breakup and begged her not to tell anyone else, even though it would be obvious to everyone when they don't see you two walking together or sitting together at meals.

"I brought you back some potatoes." She said lightheartedly, you weren't having it.

The potatoes at Hogwarts tasted better to you than anything else, and were your comfort food, but you didn't want it, you didn't want to eat anything.

Your tears found their way out again, as you tried to silence your sobs for the sake of your roommates, the situation that Ginny, Fred's sister was also your roommate, though she said she would always be on your side if your breakup ever came, she doubted she would ever have to choose between you or family. Little did she know.

You wanted to go for a walk around the castle, to get away from the memories and the reminders of Fred, as you got up out of bed and slowly walked down to the common room, stunned to see someone you didn't want to see. You focused a little more, wiped your eyes to see George sitting there, Fred probably sleeping still. A sigh of relief escaped your lips as you walked down the stairs and passed George.

"Hey y/n, going for a midnight stroll?" He asked quietly, you nodded.

"Care if I join you?" George asked cheerfully, you sighed and nodded. He stood up from his seat before following you.

"You okay? You're never this quiet." He whispered as you walked down the stairs. You nodded, not wanting to be a burden.

"Are you not feeling well." You tilted your head, not being able to trust words at the moment.

"Look, what ever is bothering you, you could tell me, alright?" He asked, facing you towards him as he put his hands on your shoulder, you nodded.

He sighed and you two kept walking, up to the room of requirement, a place you and the twins used to always hang out and plan pranks.

It was designed like a relaxing fireplace, something you very much needed, you sat down beside the fire, on the small golden rug that was set up, George sitting next to you.

"Why don't you tell me what's on your mind?" He asked softly, your vision blurred as more tears came flooding uncontrollably, you pressed your hand over your mouth to try to quiet your sobs.

"Oh y/n, what's wrong?" He asked, bringing you to his chest, as he smelled so similar to Fred as they often shared cologne, it made you cry harder because you missed Fred.

"Fred broke up with me." You managed to say, George's grasp tightened around you as he rubbed your back and hummed into your hair.

"Sh sh love you're okay, I know it hurts." He rested his cheek on the top of your head, still rubbing your back as you cried hard into his chest.

"Maybe if I was more athletic, or more skinny or if I had better skin or maybe if I was better in bed." You rambled, George's heart broke as he sees the girl his brother had hurt talk poorly about herself.

You see, George had a big crush on y/n, but before he could pluck the courage to ask her out, Fred had beat him to it. Hearing that Fred hurt the girl of his dreams lit a fire in him, and shattered his heart to hear the girl he loved so dearly sob over a broken heart ached his.

"Y/n, babe, you are gorgeous, you may not be a quidditch player but you can run faster than any other girl I know. You're charming, you're beautiful, you're funny. You have a great sense of humor. If Fred wasn't able to see all that then maybe he wasn't worth the time." Y/n had stopped crying, listening to George speak his feelings and his heartbeat killing her back to reality.

"Thanks Georgie, why did I spend a year with Fred when I could've just been with you?" Y/n muttered, before wrapping her arms around his stomach and resting her head on George's chest.

"Y/n, I was thinking exactly the same thing." He blushed as he pressed a kiss to the top of her head.

"Georgie is it too soon to give you a kiss?"

"Not at all." He said before lifting his head up as she turned towards him, pressing a gentle kiss to his lips.

He cupped her cheek as their lips molded perfectly together. George is even a better kisser than Fred. Y/n thought, as she smiled, the pieces of her heart slowly forming back together as she wrapped her arm around George's neck, bringing him closer to her as he wrapped an arm firmly around her waist, the cackling of the fire fitting the scene just right.

George pulled away from the kiss, opening his eyes to look into y/n's beautiful e/c eyes.

"I love you, you know."

"Oh I know, and I love you too Georgie. Thank you." She pressed a kiss to his cheeks before scooting down lower to rest her head against his chest, as his steady heartbeat lulled her to sleep as George stared into the fire, stroking y/n's arm and pressing his cheek against her head.

A/n: this is a lot longer than most of my imagines, but I hope you enjoyed, thought this was cute and is similar to the Ron imagine that I wrote. Be sure to vote!
