The Promise

Alone

***Beth***
"Yeah ". He said sitting up in bed .
"Its almost in the afternoon and your now getting up ". I said. 
"Yeah , I couldn't sleep ". He said .
"Why?". I said .
"Its nothing ". He said 
I didn't want to pressure him so I just said "Okay " .

I went downstairs and started to make lunch .
I was almost done cooking lunch when someone came up behind me and said "That looks and smells delicious ".
The voice was Alex .
"Alex , don't scare me like that ". I said pushing him off of me .
He did the same thing when we were kids and our moms let us cook .

He didn't say anything and just left .
When the food was ready , I put food for the both of us and carried it to the living room. 
"Thanks ". He said while I gave him his plate .
Before we were both finished with our meal , Alex said "Beth , are going to a sleepover again ? .

"Yeah , why ?". I asked. 
He wanted to tell me but he said "No reason ".
"It seemed like there was a reason ".
"Yeah ". He said mumbling the word and getting up and going to the kitchen .
I followed him into the kitchen and said " I heard that " .

"Okay ". He mumbled .
"Alex , why don't you want me to go ".
"Its  nothing . Forget I even asked ".
"Alex ". I said. 
"Leave it ". He said and left .
I wanted him to tell me the reason why but he didn't .

I slept on the couch for a few hours , and when I woke up it was time for me to go .
I went up to my room and saw Alex laying in the bed with his phone .
I grabbed my stuff that I needed and it was really awkward .
When I was done , Alex was looking at me .

"Alex just tell me why you don't me to leave and stop looking at me like that ". I said coming  closer to him .
"You can go ".
"Alex , just tell me ".
"Beth ".
"Please ".

He didn't say anything and then I said " Alex ". I said in a frustrated way .
"Do you want to know why ?". He said asking me .
I nodded because I was afraid to say anything because I made him to crack .
"I don't want you to go because I want you to stay ".

 
"Alex " . I said coming in the bed .
"Beth ". He said as he wanted to get out the bed .
I held him and he fell back on the bed .
"Alex , why didn't you tell me ". I asked him .
"Beth ". He said
"Please ". I said .

"Fine , I didn't tell you because you would have said no ".
"That is true but I will make it up by  staying home for the entire day ".
"Bethy ".
I don't know why but I blushed at what he just called me .
I didn't have the heart to tell him not to call me .

"Alex , I am not going to be long ".
I felt like I was telling my son that I will come back soon .
"Alex , I will come back . When I come back , we can do anything you want ".
"Anything  ?" He said getting an idea .
"Yeah anything ".
"Okay ".

"Bye ". I said.
"Bye ". He said  with a smirk on his face.
I regretted telling him that tomorrow we can do anything he wants .
I grabbed my things and headed to Cathy 's house .

When I reached , I told Cathy and Ally what happened and then they said that it will be interesting . In the morning , they couldn't wait until I left .
When I did leave , they kept telling me good luck .

When I got home , I was sacred to go in .
But I had to . Once I got in , I saw my parents in the living room. 
They saw and said "Hi sweetie " .
I wanted to reply back but I heard gunshots being fired and I heard Alex 's voice saying "Yessss ".
That was when I realized that it was from Alex 's PlayStation .

"Hi mom ".
"Sleepover at Cathy 's ?". My dad asked .
"Yeah ".
I went upstairs to put my things away and went downstairs .
"Sweetie , we will be back in  a couple of hours to help with the room makeover ".
"Okay ".
Once they left , I felt really scared to be alone with Alex .
