SFW (But there is swearing and self-loathing in it so FYI)

Thisssssss took a while to write. Why? Who can say. Sorry it took so long though!!

I guess this is not as romantic (yet) but I have plans for a second part to this so mAYbe later...

...

This really was the only way.

The only thing left to try.

Yet somehow....you managed to fuck that up too.

You had scoured the shadiest little shops in your town, did massive amounts of research online, and even stopped by your local library.

A Power-Summoning Ritual. One that would summon a great mystical essence from the depths of the universe and let you control it with your own two hands. So you'd finally have it.

You were growing increasingly frantic as you set up for the ritual, lighting the candles, placing the crystals, and drawing the grid with cooresponding symbols with chalk on your own bedroom floor.

You barely finish drawing the final mark as the chalk marks explode in red light, burning the chalkmarks into the floor before the wood inside the circle disintegrates to ash, opening a roaring portal of red in the middle of your bedroom.

You put out your hand to shield your eyes from the heat as you try to get off your butt and back onto your feet, and as you do, a dark form begins rising effortlessly out of the portal. Wrapped in giant bat-like wings, a demon bathed in black appears before you, a long, spindly figure easily seven or eight feet tall with horns that curl up and out over its bald head. As its clawed feet pull out of the circle, it spreads its wings wide—filling the entire width of the room and nearly knocking over several of your wall decorations as it does—and sends out a powerful screech that blasts everything in the vicinity, knocking things askew with merely a sound. You struggle to keep your balance while trying to save your hearing.

Then the portal shuts and the figure drops gently to the floor, letting its wings fold behind it.

Shit.

The figure then places a fist to its mouth to cover a cough.

"Excuse me for that display," it says. "I was merely having a bit of fun."

What the shit?

"Um...hello?" You reply hesitantly from your spot on the floor. "This must be some kind of mistake."

The being sticks out a long arm as if to help you up. You take their clawed hand—the skin almost like smooth tree bark—and they dextrously pull you up off the floor, where you pick up and begin to ruffle furiously through the book you were using for the summoning, muttering to yourself as you do so.

"This was a power summoning spell," you say aloud, attention still on the book. "It wasn't a demon summoning spell."

The demon comes up behind you and looks down over your shoulder at the book you are reading.

"Perhaps, but I am, indeed, a being of power," it says plainly before pointing with a sharp ink-black nail to the symbols that you had drawn in chalk. "That is my name in the human translation of Demonic."

"Just a ritual with your name can summon you?"

"Names are particularly powerful for Demons such as myself," it says. "We do not provide them to mortals willingly."

You snap the book shut, scrunching your eyes tight to prevent yourself from getting upset: "I'm sorry, but it seems I have summoned you here accidentally...you don't...need to be here."
