Fuck finally I’m done.
I slump my back at my chair, finally I can go home.
I checked the time it’s almost 10pm and did Deanna got home safely?
I better call her.
(ring….ring…ring)
“Hey Deanna are you home?
“Not yet I told you I need to buy something at the convenient store.
Blah…blah..blah…
“By the way Deanna,
can we pick Japanese food on our way home?
co'z I’m craving for sushi.
Silence…
I’m about to speak but I heard her talk.
"Look Bert I told you I’m not…
Silence…
Then I heard noises…
a groan? Wait is it a painful groan?
Seems like she’s in pain.
“Hello Deanna? Hello?
I’m starting to panic then the line went off.
Oh no no no no no!
I tried to call her again but her phone just kept ringing.
Fuck!!! I dropped the call and gathered my things then rapidly went outside.
I look around but there’s no trace of Deanna.
Fuck, fuck, fuck!!!
Where the hell are you???
I dialed her phone again but she’s not answering.
Please be safe Deanna, please.
I stopped for a while and calm myself.
Think Anna, think!
Then I remembered she mention before that she went to the convenient store.
Yes there’s a nearby convenient store here then I started to walk.
Jeez! Why is it so dark in here?
As I was walking,
I noticed a man who’s smoking in the alley.
I stared at him figuring out if I know that person.
And yes I know him it’s none other than Bert…
Wait…Deanna told me that Bert approached her a few minutes ago during our call.
So I walk towards him and grab his shirt.
“What the hell??? He said while staring at me irritably.
“Where is Deanna!!!
“What?
“Where the hell is Deanna!!! You talked to her don’t lie to me.
“Wait Anna calm down.
Yes I spoke to her but I don’t know where she is now.
“Don’t lie to me you jerk!!!
Why are you still here? You’re following her right!!!
I heard Deanna on the phone that you followed her.
“I did not. I was looking for her too because I’m going to ask her if I can borrow Andrei this weekend.
I’m planning to go the park with my son.
I let go of his shirt and think.
She mentioned Bert and went silent then the call got cut off.
If Bert is telling the truth then who’s the one who’s following Deanna?
“Bert after you talk to her did you see where she went?
“She went there…
He pointed the path where I came from.
So she’s heading back to the office,
right she said that she’s walking back to our building.
I was back to my trance when I felt a hand on both of my shoulders shaking me.
“Anna? Why you look like that?
Why are you acting as if Deanna’s missing?
Is there anything that I don’t know?
I stare at him wondering if I’m going to tell him the reason why I’m acting like this.
“Look Anna, I know I’m a jerk but I still care for Deanna,
she’s the mother of my son so tell me.
“Bert the truth is I’m worried about Deanna’s safety and now I don’t know where she is and it’s driving me crazy. What if Leo found her?
Bert was so shocked after hearing what I said.
“What do you mean by Leo? Her uncle? He’s in prison…don’t tell me…
“Yes Bert he escaped.
And with that Bert started to freak out too because he knows the awful things that Leo did to Deanna in the past.
“We need to find her let’s go to the path where she went and try to call her phone.
As we were both walking I tried to dial Deanna’s phone again and it kept ringing
then I heard a faint sound of ringtone,
I followed where the sound was and just to find out a phone on the ground.
I pick it up and check it.
It has a crack on the screen but I knew this phone,
it’s hers.
“Bert look it’s Deanna’s phone.
Why is it here and it’s almost wreck.
“I think she’s nearby why don’t we split up?
Then let’s call each other once we found her.
“Okay I agree.
“Take care and be aware of your surroundings.
In short be vigilant.
Call me whatever happens okay?
I nod then we split up.
As I was walking I notice a dark narrow alley so I decided to go there.
as I go further I heard noises.
It’s a female voice.
I ran towards the noise and saw the greatest fear of Deanna.
That mother fucking Leo was above her and stripping her.
