Deanna’s POV

 
Six months have passed since I last saw Heather,
I came back to work 3 months ago and I manage to work at home but unfortunately I need to return to the office,
so I’ve been working here again.

As for my mental health I can handle things a little bit better now,
I still have my counseling session from time to time and it helps me a lot.

Things between me and Bert are still the same we tried to get things back,
but it didn’t work out.
I still can’t get Heather out of my mind.
These past months help me to figure out that I really love her but what can I do?
I pushed her away,
my mind still believe that this is for the best but my heart always screams her name.

I was pulled out from my thoughts when I heard a knock.

“Come in. I said.

“Hmmm. Deanna we need to talk. It’s one of my bosses.

“Sir? What can I do for you?

“Remember the joint project with the XX company?
We will have a summer outing together with them for 3 days and 2 nights,
we need to establish a good relationship with their higher ups so I need you to attend it together with other higher ups too.

“Why me sir? I thought that the outing is for the higher ups only.

“Yes indeed, but our CEO can’t attend and you’re one of the valuable employees here and our CEO is requesting you to join so you don’t have a choice.

“Looks like I don’t really have a choice sir so when is this outing sir if may I ask?

“It’s tomorrow morning so you may go home and pack your things.
you can drive together with the higher ups or drive by yourself, it’s all up to you.

“I think I’ll drive by myself.

“Okay I’ll just send you the address.

“Okay thank you sir.

 
Heather’s POV

 
It’s been six months, six whole fucking months since I last saw her,
I miss her like crazy.
I love her so much so I need to stay strong,
I need to respect her decision, letting her go is the hardest thing to do.

I was awakened from my thoughts when I heard someone’s calling me.

“Hey Heather? Are you still here? Stacey said while snapping her fingers in front of my face.

“Yes? Hmmm what did you say?

“As I was saying we have outing tomorrow with XX company.

“I don’t want to attend Stacey,
you and the others can do it without me.

“Oh come on Heather you need to be there.
You’re one of the major stockholders in the company, the project is about to start,
and we need to establish good relationship with them, okay?
So like it or not you’re going to participate.

I sigh and agreed to my defeat..

 
Day of the outing…

 
Heather’s POV

 
We arrived at the hotel and yes me and Stacey are late, but who cares we’re the bosses and the XX company is already here,
they were discussing about the room arrangement.

We request for different rooms but due to our luck there’s a problem occurred.
The reservation of the rooms was cancelled during the last minute.

“We’re very sorry for the inconvenience ma'am we didn’t know that this will happen,
said the manager of the hotel.
