Shadows of the past, they linger still, Haunting me with memories that chill, Of moments lost and dreams unfulfilled, Of love that died and hopes that were killed.
They follow me with every step I take, A constant reminder of my heartbreak, Of all the choices that I didn't make, And all the chances that I let slip away.
I try to run, to leave them far behind, But they're always there, just lurking in my mind, Reminding me of all I left behind, Of all the things I've lost and can't rewind.
And yet, in shadows there is beauty too, A gentle reminder of what was true, Of all the things that made my heart renew, Of all the moments that felt like a breakthrough.
For even in darkness, there is light, A glimmer of hope that shines so bright, Guiding me through the shadows of the night, Towards a future that's filled with delight.
So I embrace the shadows of my past, Knowing that they won't be the last, But with each step, I walk more steadfast, Towards a future that's brighter than the past. ________________________________________________________________________________
