Emily's POV

It wasn't long before the gang assembled in the homey apartment me and Logan were staying in. We talked about the most absurd things, leaving out the most important topics such as our whereabouts for the past 6 months or the kinds of things we had been through.

We pulled out beers, and ordered pizza, having a night that we most probably wouldn't have again for a very long time.

Logan remained quiet by the corner, exchanging glances with me every now and then. I brushed it off, reminding myself to ask him later. His phone rang, as he wearily looked at it before taking the call outside. Something about his facial expression changed as he glared at his screen.

I had decided to push it away from my thoughts, but when he returned and excused himself t o go attend to some 'business', my plans had suddenly changed. A minute after I heard his car pull out from the lot, I decided to take some action.

"Jack, can I borrow your car?" he looked at me in confusion but nodded anyways.

"Where are you going?" Jordan asked me as I picked up my coat, heading towards the front door.

"Just gotta pick up a few things, you guys go ahead, I'll be back soon" I replied in a hurry, rushing down to Jack's car.

I pulled out, speeding it down the roads I had last seen the car go in. It wasn't too long before I spotted our car, and I placed myself three cars behind him, doing my best not to get caught.

Where is he going?

Logan's POV

I couldn't do it, not anymore. Not to her, not to myself. I couldn't keep her in the shadows, living like a renegade like myself, and if I was going to do that I was most certainly not going to have us living in a withered house with the least of facilities.

It was this very reason why I had resumed my last business transaction with certain people. It wasn't bigger than a drug deal, and it sure did get me the money that I needed. The only problem was, the boss. Louisa Palmer, the very person I was working with was the kind of girl I would have banged before I met Emily, she is also the type of person who definitely makes her move on people.

Her offers were great, only sometimes, they included a little more extra credit that people like myself were not ready to offer.

It was no secret she wanted to sleep with me, but that was something I couldn't do in a million years. Not with Emily, not to Emily.

I pulled in, outside the strip club she had asked me to meet her in, checking for anyone around before I reluctantly walked in, the pink shades immediately striking my eyes, the image of females swinging off poles or giving customers a lap dance, made me want to turn back. There was a time this was what I lived for, but all that had changed for the best.

At the very end of the hall, sat Louisa, cigar in her mouth as she looked at the females ahead of her. She had worn a black suit, without a shirt, her cleavage on clear display. Her 14 inch heels were displayed by her feet that lay on the table ahead of her. She blew out her cigar once she caught sight of my entrance.

"Logan Miller, wanted by the FBI, here to continue with his business. This is truly unbelievable." She smirked, elevating from her seat.

"I have my reasons" I responded simply, not wanting to give up much information, I knew I couldn't mention Emily, knowing that Louisa was capable of exposing her too.

"Well, what is it that you want?" she questioned seductively, coming closer to me.

"You know what I want" I snapped, getting sick and tired of her filthy games

"Well, that works out because you also know what I want. So what's it to be Logan Miller, do you accept my offer or not?" her fingers fell on my shirt, trailing them down my chest as seductively as she could. I swatted her hand away, feeling disgust at the mere touch. "Oh, what's the matter Miller, you in love?" she taunted.

"I don't do love, and I don't have time for bullshit Louisa, the deal is simple, the money for the trade" I demanded. She chuckled, turning back to resume her position on the chair with her feet up.

"You can come back when you're ready to accept the offer. And I'll have you know Miller, that will be very soon" She threatened, starting another cigar. I sighed, walking away from her outside the club. I had to look for another way out, or else I wouldn't be able to provide for the woman I loved.

Unfortunately the woman I loved was too smart. She was also standing right outside the strip club by Jack's car. Clearly she had heard everything or else her face wouldn't have looked the way it did.

"Emily-"

"Don't even. Here I was thinking that maybe you've changed, that I made the right decision coming with you but-"

"Don't you dare finish that sentence Emily" I dared, stopping her midway. She glared at me as I advanced towards her.

"Obviously you won't believe me if I tell you that I do want to change, but we can't keep living like this Emily, we don't have any money, we barely have any places to go let alone any money for gas. What was I supposed to do? How was I supposed to tell you?"

"So what, you chose to lie to me instead? The truth hurts Logan, but I already accepted that a long time ago. If you think that because of the situation we're currently in that I'm going to regret coming with you then you're wrong. I told you that I would always love you, and if you truly believed that you would have told me." She replied, making my heart sink. I loved her, and I couldn't lose her.

"I love you Emily, and I know you love me too. I'm sorry it had to come to this baby, but I'll stop, I promise. We'll figure a way out, I promise. I'm so sorry Em" She scoffed, looking me right in the eyes.

"Don't make promises you can't keep" And with that, she pushed me out of the way, placing herself back in the car and speeding off. I didn't chase her, I knew that it was too late, and I was wrong, again.

What have I done?
