A boy died
At 19 years old
On Saturday
His funeral was todayAnd all I can think is
What does a mother so
After her sons funeral
A funeral is the last way
She can take care of her childShe will never
Be able to hug him
And care for him
While he cries over his
First true heartbreakShe will never be able to
Pay his car insurance
Until he finally lands that
First real jobShe will never be able to
Talk him out
Of leaving that girl
That they both know
He truly loves
But he's just to scared
To be lovedShe will never be able to
Take away the drugs
And the alcohol
Before he turns 21
And coax him
Through rehab
And love him
Back to lifeShe will never be able to
Give him away
To that girl
She knew he'd loved
Since before
He even knew it himselfShe will never be able
To teach him how to
Change his first diaper
And care for that first kidShe will never be able
To watch her first grandchild
While he rushes her daughter in law
To the hospital
Because she's already in labor
With the secondShe will never be able
To take care of the grandkids
So that he and his wife
Can spend the night awayShe will never be able
To care for her son again
She cannot mother him anymoreWhat does a mother do
After her son's funeral?
It seems as though
A funeral
Is the last thing
A mother can do
To care for her son(07/28/29)
