    Thirteen & Eighteen

    Tonight is an odd 
    Sort of night
    It feels both 
    Young 
    And 
    Old
    
                          
    I am stuck somewhere between my age
    And 13 years old
    Tonight
    
                          
    Part of me knows
    I am the age I am:
    Eighteen and seventeen days 
    But part of me, tonight,
    Feels as though
    I am thirteen again
    
                          
    I have that childhood hope
    And joy about me
    Tonight
    Not the childhood Christmas joy
    I'm not giddy with excitement 
    But im excited to be alive 
    A bit scared for tomorrow
    And hopeful for what is yet to come
    
                          
    I feel thirteen:
    Scared 
    Excited   
    Hopeful
    
                          
    Yet at the same time
    I feel eighteen:
    Scared of the real world
    Excited for college
    Hopeful of what is yet to come 
    
                          
    Tonight feels both
    Young 
    And old  
    And tonight 
    I feel thirteen 
    And simultaneously
    Eighteen and seventeen days
