Chapter 26, Koi Pond
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
" I'll only accept it if you allow me to date this one boy. "
~ Scarlett's POV ~
"Scarlett, this is Alana Maybank."
The girl looked so pretty and my dad looked very happy, I gave her a soft smile and shook her hand.
Her hand was soft and cold, I loved that.
"This is a bad way of meeting you, I'm sorry Scarlett."
Alana apologized, I looked at her and smiled.
Maybe she was good for my dad but I still had to do some research on her, it's what all good people do.
"Don't worry about it, I'm just glad my dad's found someone to be happy with. A great guy but a lousy cook."
I joked, causing Alana to let out a laugh as my dad laughed and looked at me with a smile.
He wasn't one of the those parents that change for their significant other.
"The box said to leave it in for two hours!"
He defended himself, I walked upstairs and changed into some joggers and put on my sneakers.
I left my tank top on and grabbed a sweater, I ran downstairs with my phone.
"Can we go to a Koi Pond?"
I asked politely, my dad agreed and so did Alana.
Soon I was in the backseat singing along to Taylor Swift's Afterglow.
"I DON'T WANNA LOSE, I DONT WANNA LOSE THIS WITH YOU!"
Alana sang the next lyric which surprised me, we began to sing together which was amazing.
Once we got to the Koi Pond, I sprinted out of the car and ran to the pond.
Alana stood next to me and smiled, my dad was on the phone was what she told me since he stood in the car.
"I'm not going to steal your dad Scarlett, I know how much he means to you."
She broke the silence that I was comfortable with, I sighed and looked at her.
That was what I thinking about, I wouldn't want to admit that though.
"Scarlett, you don't have to trust me right away. Just know that I'm never going to take him away from you."
I nodded slowly and looked down at a Koi that swam towards me, I smiled.
"I won't be the brat they show on TVs, I'm happy he's found someone. That's the truth."
I responded back truthfully, I looked at her and smiled at me.
We walked back to the car together.
"So, are we accepting the relationship?"
Dad asked with a smile, I looked at him and thought about my answer.
Yes, I do accept but I do want something that he wouldn't normally accept.
" I'll only accept it if you allow me to date this one boy. "
It was a good compromise, I get the guy I like that I hope likes me back and my dad gets a girlfriend that treats him and I good.
He looked at me and then back at Alana, he sighed and nodded.
I squealed and hugged him tightly before getting into the car with a bigger smile, I grabbed my phone and began to play music on the way back home.
Once we got home, I walked inside and went up to my room.
I took a nice shower and did everything I had to do, I changed into some shorts and a sweatshirt.
My dad turned off the heater since it was getting quite hot, I grabbed my phone and decided to FaceTime Cora.
She answered after three rings.
"Hey Cora!"
I greeted as I set my phone up on my desk and sat down, I was going to write another song or a poem.
I wasn't sure yet, just something to get my feelings off my chest.
That's when I had an amazing idea, I would write a love letter and put it inside a box.
I didn't have any other crush other than Jaden so I began to write.
As I was writing, I was filling Cora in on my date with him.
"He's so in love with you and you are so blind!"
She groaned as she moved her phone, she was laying in bed watching Netflix.
I laughed and shook my head, I couldn't be so sure he actually has feelings for me yet.
"I have to be sure about that!"
I said as I folded the note and placed it in a light green box, I pushed the box under my bed and laid down.
We stood on call for a good while, I put my phone to charge and fell asleep.
I trusted Cora a lot to not blast any music while I'm asleep, luckily she never does.
This day wasn't as weird as I thought as it was going to be.
Cora also said that she was no longer associating herself with Layla for doing what she did to me, I could not have asked for a better friend.
