       Chapter 31, Real First Date
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
         " I actually can't believe we're dancing to 'It's Nice To Have A Friend' by Taylor Swift. "
    ~ Scarlett's POV ~
        the slight breeze of the air conditioner hitting my bare leg was what woke me up, I looked around to find my room empty.
   I was a little disappointed but there's not much I could do, he had to go home.
    I got up from my bed and walked to my bathroom, I brushed my teeth and did my morning skincare routine before walking downstairs.
   I smiled and greeted my father before disappearing into the kitchen to make myself some breakfast.
    I decided to make a quesadilla with freshly chopped strawberries, I grabbed some mango juice and took my breakfast to the dining room.
   My dad has completely left me alone as I watched him walk upstairs to his room, I was alone with my thoughts which were filled with Jaden.
    Not that I would be complaining or anything but I wanted something to do or someone to talk to, I didn't want to bother Cora so early in the morning so I just scrolled through Instagram.
    Layla wasn't posting on her social medias anymore, I should know since she unblocked me on all of them.
    Bold move, she knew I would have dragged her six feet under if I were to find something written about me or have someone tell me she wrote a nasty thing about me.
   As I was washing my dishes, my phone began to ring.
   I walked over to it as I dried my hands with a napkin, I smiled at the caller and answered happily.
   "What's up Jay?"
  I greeted Jaden, I walked upstairs to my room to fix my bed up and to grab clothes.
  I don't think I could stay in pajamas all day any more, I wanted to do something.
"Would you be interested in going on a date, with me?"
   Jaden asked sheepishly which I'll admit, made me blush.
   It was a sweet way of asking me out, I had a smile bigger than Texas and had to take a deep breath to calm down.
   "Of course, where are we going?"
   I asked curiously as I looked through my closet in hopes of finding something, date worthy.
   "It's a surprise, just dress how you'd normally dress."
    With that being said, Jaden hung up.
  I sighed, there was nothing I could wear that would make me feel gorgeous.
   Normally I would have called Layla and asked her to help me but, well you know what happened.
    I sighed and sat on my bed, I was trying to put outfits together in my head but it didn't work.
   After almost an hour of sitting on the bed and thinking about every wrong outfit, I grabbed my phone and began to call my mom.
  "Mama, I uhm, I have a date-"
   I couldn't finish my sentence when I heard squealing, I laughed at her excitement and decided to FaceTime her.
  When I did face time her, she was smiling bigger than me.
  "Sweetie, who is it? Is it that baseball boy?"
     I blushed a bit and looked away from the camera, she immediately gasped and squealed once more.
   "Do you, accept the fact that I am going on a date?"
    I asked whilst biting my bottom lip, she looked at me with a soft smile.
  " As long as I'm invited to the wedding, go date the boy. "
    She encouraged me, I couldn't help but feel a sort relief.
   Soon we went onto find the perfect outfit which didn't take too long, my mom always had the perfect fashion sense.
      After getting ready, I took my time doing my hair and makeup.
    I still had some time to myself so I decided to take a minute and calm my nerves, this wasn't a dream since I pinched down on my skin.
   I was stuck in my thoughts trying to calm myself down, I couldn't actually believe we were going on a date.
   Soon, my phone began to ring scaring me.
  I looked at the caller and noticed it was just Jaden.
    Oh no, it's Jaden.
  "Heyyyy, Jaden."
  I dragged the N in Jaden, I was really nervous and he could tell.
   He just chuckled and told me that we should start heading out now, I hung up and grabbed a small backpack and added my essentials.
    I walked downstairs and gave my dad a kiss on the forehead, I left the house and took a deep breath.
   When I saw him leave his house, all my worries went away.
   He looked so pretty, pretty is gender neutral losers.
   I walked over to him and hugged him softly, taking in his scent as he took in mine.
  "Still smelling like cherries."
  Jaden said as he grabbed my hand and walked me to Jayla's car, I smiled and got into the passenger seat.
   "You smell amazing as well."
  I complimented him back, he smiled at me and we put our seatbelts on.
   He took me to olive garden, a rich fancy restaurant.
   When I tell you I felt horrible for making him spend money on me, I meant it.
   As we got in, we sat in a booth.
  "Jaden, you actually didn't have to."
     I said feeling a bit out of place, it was a beautiful gesture but I didn't want to be deemed as a gold digger.
  He grabbed my hand over the table and kissed it, for a fifteen going on sixteen year old, he's real mature.
   After we ate, we drove to a park and I ran straight to the swings.
  "Play some music, let's dance."
   I said as I passed him my phone, I watched as his fingers typed pretty fast.
   He chose the song 'It's Nice To Have A Friend'by Taylor Swift, I grabbed his hand and we danced.
  I laughed because I always saw this in movies, although I made fun of the 'Main Character' Tiktoks, I seemed to be apart of it.
   Cora is definitely going to make fun of me for this when I tell her.
  " I actually can't believe we're dancing to 'It's Nice To Have A Friend' by Taylor Swift. "
    I finally said breaking the comfortable silence, he looked at me and we made eye contact.
    We leaned in and slowly..
