(Chapter 30)
"The Future Is Now"

Six weeks had passed and graduation was only a few days away.
Everything seemed to get better.
There were no more attacks, no more suspicious behaviour, seemingly no more danger.
But whoever the masked admirer was, he was still around.
Just lurking and waiting for a final time to strike.
His time was coming soon.

Darren and Jillian were relaxing with each other on Jillian's bed.
He had her close against him as they kissed over and over.

"I can't believe we graduate on Friday," Darren finally broke away.

"I know!" Jillian squealed. "We're really moving forward."

"It should still be another week or so before we find out if we got accepted to Uni."

"Your grades are perfect," Jillian pointed out.

He laughed.

"Darren... you know you could go to school anywhere."

"Jillian, don't start. You know why I'm staying here with you. And in four years if we want to move, get an actual house somewhere, I can go to a great grad school wherever you want to end up."

Jillian kissed him.
"I love you."

"I love you, too."

"It'd be really great to get out of here in a few years," she sighed.

"Yeah, I definitely agree."

"Have you started looking at apartment buildings yet?"

"Actually, there's a couple good complexes near the University. My mom offered to put us up for a while."

"That's so great."

"I'm really excited to start a life with you," he brushed her cheek with his thumb.

"So am I," she smiled at him.

Jillian took a deep breath.
"Darren, I... I'm really sorry that the last few months have been so crazy. I'm sorry you got dragged into all this and..."

"Jillian... don't. You know I'd do anything for you. I don't care if our timing was a little off, or we both got some scratches, or whatever. We're together, we're both okay, we're in love, we're moving on... it's all going to be great."

"Except..."

"I know. But, we'll deal with it when it comes to it. So, dance on Thursday, graduation on Friday then the after party."

"Hell yeah!" She cheered.

He laughed and kissed her again.
"You're adorable."

"You're going to look good for the dance, right?" She teased.

"Do I ever not look hot?" He smirked. "I'm surprised you care though, you hate dances."

"Well... it's our last dance ever. We might as well have some fun."

"That's my girl," he kissed her a last time. "I'll see you in the morning. Love you."

"Love you, too."

"Are you ready yet? You're taking forever!" Shae called from Jillian's bedroom.

"I'm coming! Stop rushing me!" Jillian yelled back from the closet.

A few minutes later, Jillian finally came out.
