"And welcome out your home team, the North Lakes Knights!" we all cheered as the boys ran out onto the court.

The boys started warming up. Nick winked at me before he ran up to the basket and dunked. He hung on the rim with one hand. I rolled my eyes. At the last minute of warmups he ran over to me. I leaned against the railing smiling down at him. "Are you gonna wish me luck?" he asked.

We did a quick handshake with a snap at the end. I leaned down and pecked his lips. "Good luck."

"First basket is for you, corazón."

I smiled as he ran back to the huddle. The announcer announced the visiting teams starters. The lights went down and white disco lights turned on along with hype music. "At point guard, number 22, Billy Franklin. At guard, number 5, Jamie Edwards. At shooting guard, number 1, Nick Torres. At center, number 13, Luke Evans. And at post, number 33, Ben Winston."

The game started with a tip off to Luke. Luke tossed it to Nick who dunked it. As he ran across the court, he winked at me. I rolled my eyes, smiling. "First basket's for you, corazón," Tessa and Dana mocked.

I slapped both their arms. "Stop it."

"I can't," Dana whined. "You guys are so cute together and I'm living vicariously through your relationship."

"Then why don't you talk to Ryder?" I whispered. She turned her attention back to the game. I elbowed her arm. She shook her head. I grabbed her wrist and grabbed Tessa's hand. We left the bleachers and the gym walking over to the bathroom. "Okay, spill."

"Spill what?"

"Why are you mad at Ryder?" Asked Tessa.

She sighed. She slid down the wall and pulled her knees to her chest. "We went to a party together last weekend. We acted like a couple and stayed with each other the whole night, it was great."

"I don't understand," I said, sitting down in front of her.

"I went to the bathroom and when i came back he was... making out... on the couch... with a girl from another school. He didn't notice me so i just left."

"Oh honey."

"Look, i don't want to talk about it," she said. I nodded. "And don't tell Luke either, he still has this chauvinist attitude when it comes to protecting me."

I stood up and reached my hand out for her. "Luke's probably gonna find out and it should be from you or he's gonna be pissed." She grabbed my hand and pulled herself up to stand.

We walked back into the gym and over to the bleachers. Ricky and Ryder walked over to us. Ricky stood behind me putting his hands on the rail on either side of me. "We're still singing right?"

I turned my head to look up at him. "If you're still up to it." he nodded. "By the way, Dana's mad at Ryder," I whispered.

"What'd he do?"

"I'll tell you later." he nodded. He rested his chin on top of my head. "How was your date last night?"

"Had to cancel it. My mom wanted to meet her and well." I nodded.

"Babygirl, are we still hanging out after the game?" Ryder asked Dana, wrapping his arm loosely around her waist.

She stiffened in his arms. "Um no sorry, I told Tessa I'd sleepover tonight." she turned to Tessa. "I can still come over right?" she pleaded.

"Yeah of course." She smiled in thanks. "Leia do you wanna come too?"

"I was gonna hang out at Nick's but I guess I could ditch him."
