Where did my father fit into all this?

"WELCOME TO YOUR last Origins Class," Mr. Ogustus announced as he stood in front of the blackboard. All eyes sat attentively on him as he spoke.

"Whilst I have taught as best I could to introduce you to your new life, I have saved the best for last."

He turned around to face the board this time. Using chalk instead of a blackboard marker, he printed one word in block letters at the center of the board.

KINGSLAND

He turned back to face us, one hand leaning against his cane.

"We shall discuss the origins of the place around us, what it was, what it is, why it has been, and who built it into what it has become. Please note, younglings, that it existed long before the structures that we now see. That is why history is the only place we may begin."

There was no other mystery as big as that of Kingsland.

It was enough to take me off of every other thing that was rattling my mind at this moment, ranging from almost dying last night to the happenings of this morning.

This was a lesson that I didn't know I had been waiting for, but if it answered just this one question I had swirling in my mind, then I would leave Origins Class satisfied.

Where did my father fit into all this?

"To begin to discuss the Origins of Kingsland, we must begin to discuss the entities humans refer to as gods, those that were born out of the natural order of this earth and the universe that surrounds it. Those that came from the stars and built their home above it. gods." He repeated, his eyes trailing around the room.

"Criptus the second earth, a remake of the first..." he trailed off as he paced across the room, standing in front of the furthest desk closest to the door, "You must understand Younglings, that those that come from this earth lived in a superior universe, that had laws different from the laws of this one.

I shall not indulge too far into it for fear that it may all be preposterous to your ears as although there is much you have learned this week, you've lived in this universe for far too long to believe other laws beyond the ones you understand exist. Fear not, however, as you part to your Classes, it shall be revealed to you step by step."

I couldn't imagine just how preposterous these laws of the universe were in comparison to the one we lived in.

I couldn't speak for anyone else quite literally, but it would be kind of hard to hear that there was a universe where Gravity was non-existent.

All I know is that Gravis' powers would be useless there, that was for sure.

"Criptus was a paradise, a planet that was unrivaled in beauty and color, a sight to see," he continued, a certain lofty look in his eyes as he described the place, "nature was all around in every direction balanced soundly with that of civilization in perfect harmony. There was no sickness, no diseases, and no wars- as it was meant to be. It was designed to be everything that Earth failed to achieve. It began with one family, this time built to perfection.

But as it is with the first, power at its highest was given to the first man- a man we call now Olorun, Perun, Odin, Zeus and so many more in our various mythologies, the most powerful god of them all.

He is often associated with the sky, as it is his chosen domain. He was given the first gift, one that is mentioned but once in all history- it is a unique gift superior to any other god, one, not even I can mention.

And the second gift was given to the second being that was created, a woman we shall call Hera, wife to Zeus. And from their bodies came the first family," he looked at one student each time he mentioned a name

"Poseidon, Demeter, Hades, Athena, Apollo, Hephaestus, Ares, Aphrodite, Hermes, Artemis, and Dionysus. These are only Greek names of certain Greek gods but throughout history, they have made many names of their selves, showing their powers to whichever, they so decided. Make no mistake younglings, the gods were not limited to one show of power.

Just because the Greeks knew Aphrodite as the goddess of beauty, that does not automatically mean it is the same form she chose to show to the Egyptians per se, although history has shown that the Romans and Greeks gods had nearly the same show of power. However, as is in the case of Odin and Zeus, one may be able to see significant changes.

This was the prime Family, those that we call the prime gods. Primordial as they are eternal. As this was the first family, they have the most power compared to any other gods that lived after them, no matter the religion, or mythology. The most powerful is Zeus."

I noted how he used the present tenses when he spoke of these gods as if they were still very much in existence.

I guess that is what eternal means.

"Bearer of the first gift, the second is Hera, bearer of the second gift, and then comes Poseidon and Hades as the rest follow prospectively."

A hand went up from the middle of the class and we all turned to Naaka as Mr. Ogustus gave her the floor to speak.

"Do the other gods also have these mysterious gifts?" she asked, placing both of her elbows off the desk as she spoke.

"There are two gifts currently existing only for the Original Prime, man, and woman. However, there is a prophecy of the third gift in the age of Levi..."

He trailed off seemingly lost before catching himself, "However, it is not of importance at this moment, let us not get carried away- we have a lot to cover before I am interrupted for the last time by the bell," he grinned and we all chuckled as he paced to the center of the class,

"There is a question I am disappointed no one has asked yet," he began his eyes trailing around the class as silence overtook it once more, 'if Criptus was so perfect, why did the gods leave?" he asked, his eyes narrowing down at us.

My eyebrows creased at this question. It was valid enough, I mean, why leave paradise?
