"Do not be too hard on yourself child, your circumstances are different from most,"

"CONDUCTORS' MISS ALMULESE sighed as she leaned against the front desk, her gaze traveling among us.

We stood before her defeated, wands in hand as for what felt like the hundredth time, we were failing to teleport, except for the few that had been hand-selected by Harvest already.

"Conduct," she finished, "simply meaning," she continued, her Jamaican accent slow on each word as if trying to get it through to us-

"It be carryin' energy from one spot to another," she stated, "therefore, you must convert your state o' matter into pure energy," she paused, eyes falling in the middle of the class.

"Dat be somethin' beyond mortal reach, but as you saw before, a basic command for reds such as yourselves."

There was a short silence almost as if she was giving us time to let it sink in, even though I was quite sure that I had heard her say those words before, and that was not the problem.

The problem was I lacked focus, ever since this morning my brain had been all over the place.

I had been distracted with What-if questions during morning Classes, lunch, and even now, in the one class that could help me with my dilect issues ever since I had refused Harvest's help.

Yet even as I knew these things, here I was, far away from class, still debating my jumbled-up, messed-up feelings.

A timid hand rose from the midst of the classroom and slightly turned to spott a dark-haired girl with patches on her skin.

Miss Alumulese nodded her way, giving her the floor.

"W-why can't we teleport like the others did yesterday? You said no one would be able to teleport on their first try- and whilst w-we can't, how come they did?' she asked.

I kind of knew the answer to this.

It was simple, Harvest and his mind games, something about activating and deactivating Dilects, or boosting, as Lira stated earlier.

Though I was interested in the specifics of it all it was clear, that Harvest had many abilities that set him apart from the other originals.

Whilst Rangi and Lwangi's abilities were also diverse, they weren't as mysterious as Harvest's and not that unnatural.

I flashed back to the wings he could so easily summon and hide.

I felt uncomfortable at this because it made me realize that after moments like the ones I shared with him earlier today, It was so easy to forget that this was a boy with more secrets than my fingers could count and yet hid each of them expertly whilst I was having trouble keeping one.

"It is quite simple," Miss Alumelese began walking toward the first girl in the row.

"Concentrate," she hummed looking at her, " teleport."

The girl nodded, her hands shaky, but Miss Almulese straightened the wand for her.

The girl exhaled shakily before whispering the magic words and in a second she had disappeared, appearing breathlessly at the back of the room, causing all of us to turn and look at her quite surprised too.

My eyebrows arched at the sight but Miss Almulese remained unphased, her eyes however set on the girl.

"There are many kinds of conductors younglings, too many to count, and different forms, both inanimate and animate, objects and beings, living and nonliving," she stated, placing her hands in front of her calmly as she continued.
