Coral Newport hated Finnick Odiar and he hated her back. Why? No one really knew.
It was similar to how a pair of best friends cannot recall how and when they met, but instead, it was a pair of rivals. A simple rivalry between children. He would smirk, and tease her, and pull her hair. She would yell, and rant about it, and throw things at him.
When put into groups in school, their moods would always sour when put together. They would roll their eyes and complain to the teacher until it became clear that they would not be changing groups.
Perhaps the only thing they could agree on was that they wanted to be apart.
