In MAO players will fight a variety of monsters and creatures. Monsters are found all throughout the overworld or instance areas. All monsters are classified by their type and strength. When a player defeats a monster, they will receive Kae/Qiu and have the possibility of receiving an item drop. Item drops can be materials used for crafting, consumables or even cracked equipment; a player can increase the chance of receiving these drops by attacking an area where the monster is most likely to receive a drop e.g. attacking the horns of a monster will increase the chance of receiving the horns as an item drop.

When a player encounters a monster, the player can use an item called the Scope Monocle to scan the monsters stats; When a player first encounters a monster its stats such as; level and health cannot be seen. After a monster is scanned it will be added to the players Bestiary, and its stats will become available to the player or other members of the party if they have not scanned the monster. To learn everything about the monster multiple scans are required.

- First Scan: this will reveal the monsters Level, Health, Stamina, and Mana Resistance

- Second Scan: this will reveal the monsters base stats, weaknesses such as; physical (Defense or Resistance), elemental weaknesses (Fire, Dark, Lightning, etc.), and how effective these attacks are against the monster.

- Third Scan: this will reveal the possible item drops that player can receive. monsters weak points where items are likely to drop from and will reveal lines of text about the monster giving a description of the lore behind that monster.
