36. Locked Down

Lemuel's POV

I parked my car and got out only to find Aaron already standing, hands on his pocket. I nodded at him and he shook his head.

"Let the two work things out first," he said.

I came to him and alongside, stared at Prints Perfectly. A familiar car was parked few feet ahead of us. I know Jenny was inside. I got my phone and dialed her number.

"You can leave now," I said to her.

"Copy Sir," she answered.

Soon enough, the car began to leave.

"So," Aaron spoke again.

"We wait," I told him.

He shook his head again.

"Astaghfirullah. This is wrong man," he said with a sigh.

I chose not to say anything.

Suddenly, the door opened and out appeared Zai, clearly walking out with a sad expression on her face. She was wiping her eyes and was hurriedly going to his car. Automatically, both Aaron and I went to her. Behind Zai was Amir calling out her name.

Zai's POV

Stupid, stupid, stupid! How could I be so stupid! Letting him kiss me like that and then just to find out that he's going to Egypt to chase his dream woman.

"Zai, please hear me out first," he said.

No I am not going to let him get to me ever again. Why would he have dinner with me? Why would he joke and be with me and kiss me! Damn it!

I switched on my car and was ready to climb in when two figures stood in front of me.

"It's not safe for you to drive. I'll drive you home," Aaron said.

"No, she's riding with me," Lemuel said.

Footsteps stoped sounding behind me. I knew my soon to be ex husband is behind me and I am just so humiliated with myself that I don't want to see him. I opened my car and climbed inside and started the engine.

Before I could step on and start driving, the city emergency alarm filled the entired town. It was an extremely loud hooting sound. My hands trembled in fear and the men outside my car started getting inside.

"Lock down. We need to get back inside the shop," Lemuel automatically said. He was the one who was seated next to me.

"No, we're driving out of here. Honey, drive now, fast," instructed Amir.

"The nearest house to this..."

Aaron wasn't able to finish his statement as a loud explosion was heard somewhere ahead of us.

"All, out of the car now!" Lemuel yelled.

All four of us got out instantly and headed back for my shop. The night guard I hired Mr. Lando was already escorting us inside.

Amir pressed something on the wall and automatically, the shop was locked down and darkness envelope us.

"How did..." I asked.

"I had it installed after the last terrorist incident," Amir explained.

He walked towards the switch and turned it on. The whole place was lighted.
