Tonight's game is in Everett. Zach is with the Wenatchee Wild as they are the relocated Winnipeg Ice. One thing I know for sure? Everett is definitely out for Zach Benson blood.
I have glass seats right beside the Wenatchee bench so I'll be able to watch and take photos easily. For school, I'm in a photography class and they assigned me to hockey, which is making my job easy. Zach knows this so he said that he'd pose for a picture I guess?
The players started coming out for warm ups and they skated a few laps of their half of the ice before shooting. Z spotted me and came over. He nodded at me as I nodded back. He struck a pose, hand on his hip and his tongue stuck out. I giggled and took the photo. He places his glove on the glass as I put my hand over where his is. After gesturing me to take a photo, I completed his "task" and shooed him off.
He rolled his eyes and kissed his glove before blowing it over to me. I caught it dramatically as he laughed and skated off. It's become our little thing at every game I'm at. Looking through the pictures, I glanced at the picture of our hands on the glass and smiled. I posted it on Instagram.

I giggled at some comments but looked up once the players came back out for the game. Geekie looked at me with a playful glare as I subtly flipped him off in case the camera was pointed at me. He gasped and tapped Zach repeatedly until he turned to look. Conor pointed at me while complaining as Zach laughed.
He looked at me with an eyebrow raised. I shrugged in response and turned back to the game which started. 2 minutes later, Wenatchee did a line switch and Z was out. I ain't saying Wild cause I'll think I'm talking about Minnesota. About a minute later the whistle blew for a penalty.
I noticed Eric Jamieson riling up Zach until they both finally dropped the gloves. Apparently that dude is from where I live? I groaned. He's not a fighter at all. Hell, he had less than 50 penalty minutes last year during the regular season.
Eric got Zach on the ice after a minute and they both got dragged to the box, Z looking way more mad than usual. I made eye contact with Ty Nash, both of us sharing a confused look. He shrugged at me as I sighed. This will be a long game.
*Post game*
Thankfully, Wenatchee won in OT with Zach getting a hattie, including the final goal. But I knew he'd be in a bad mood. Leaning against the wall outside the lockers, I was looking through the pictures I took. I actually got one of Zach throwing a punch.
A door closing snapped me away from my camera. I looked up and saw Zach walking out of the locker room. He looked around until he spotted me. After I put away my camera, he walked over to me and wrapped his arms around me as he dug his face into my neck. My hand reached over to his head and played with the end of his hair.
"You okay?" I asked him softly.
"No. My ass hurts." He groaned. I laughed. "Don't laugh at me! My ass hit the ice really hard!" He weakly defended. I patted his head as he pulled his head away to pout at me.
"Put the pout away." I said. He stuck his bottom lip out more. I poked it and it went back into his mouth.
"Hey!" He exclaimed. I shook my head.
"I need to go to my hotel so I can catch my flight back tomorrow." I mentioned to him.
"Just bus back with us. You live with my billet and I anyway." He suggested. I shook my head once more in protest. "You've done it before!"
"Yeah. Because there was no flights from Saskatoon to Winnipeg." I defended.
"Please!" He begged. I sighed.
"Fine. Only if it's okay with your coach." Zach did a mini celebration dance. "One thing. You're not a fighter." I joked.
"Hey!"
