"What the hell is this shit! Alexandra? Get the fuck down here" Alex hears suddenly. Her heart dropped into her chest as she quickly dropped her book on the bed and stood up.

she quickly ran down the stairs with her backpack thrown over her shoulder, knowing that after this conversation she definitely wouldn't of had time to run up and grab anything, she would have to get the hell out of the house

"What's wrong" Alex asks quietly as she looks up at the man in front of her that reeked of alcohol. He threw a ripped open envelope and some paper on the bench beside them

"You got mail. You're having some fucking hearing for that Hannah baker girl that decided to slit her wrists a few months ago" he growls.

Alex looks down and plays with her fingers. She doesn't say anything though she really wanted too, she wanted to defend her friend, but she couldn't get any words out of her mouth. "Are you just going to ignore me you little shit? What the fuck did you do? You're going to draw attention to me again and I'm gonna have child protective services knocking on my fucking door again"

"You don't need to go and I'm sure they won't even need to know anything about my home life" Alex chokes out and let's out a cry of pain as he hits her across the face. The hit was hard and quick, definitely going to leave a bruise and result in some swelling

"Are you saying I'm a shitty father?" He growls angrily and she looks up at him in fear and shakes her head quickly, "cause I'm not a fucking shit father. I do everything for you, I put money on the table. Without me you wouldn't live in a house, you wouldn't have food and you wouldn't have any of those clothes."

She bit her tongue to keep quite, Jeff's family had brought most of her clothes, and she had brought some of them with her own money, not to mention that she was the one that payed for most of the food.

"Of course not sir" she replies and tries to hold the tears back and he throws his beer bottle on the ground.  She jumps from the loud smash, her whole body shaking as she avoided making eye contact with him

"If I get any questions I'm gonna make sure you won't be around any longer do you understand me? I'll fucking kill you" he growls and she nods her head. She takes the large yellow envelope off the table that was already ripped open, shoved all the paper back in and she runs out the door. She grabs her skateboard that was leaning against the house and she quickly jumped on it before she rode to school, reading it on her way.

Alex quickly wipes her tears away as she shoves her board and the envelope in the back of montys truck when she spotted it and then walked inside.

She could tell that the bruise was beginning to form as people sent her looks as she walked past, some of them even stopping to ask if she was okay, to which she quickly replied with a smile saying 'I'm good thank you, I'm starting to think I should stop playing soccer though, the amount of arms flying everywhere is insane,' and then she would laugh it off

She walks to her locker but stops when Tyler walks up to her and asks "did you get one too?"

"What are you talking about" she asks and doesn't look at him but continues to walk, even though she knew exactly what he was talking about. She didn't like him. She had caught him hiding and taking photos of girls without them knowing multiple times. She didn't want to talk to him, and that was that.

"The police went around handing people envelopes. People who were on the tapes and you're on the tapes. I don't think they know about them yet but the truth will come out.
They will find out about what you did" Tyler
Says, a threatening tone taking over

"Fuck off tyler" Alex growls angrily. It was unusual for the girl to be like this but since last night she changed, "you're the one that should be worried. I talked about someone behind their back, you took photos of Hannah while she was in her bra. Now piss off," she snapped
