Audrey POV

The sound of the alarm woke me up. I laid sprawled on the bed, covers everywhere and my hand clutching the book I finished hours ago.

I get up and do my morning routine. I dress in leggings and an oversized long sleeve. Today I felt lazy. Today I felt careless.
Today I just wanted to forget.

But sadly my agenda didn't prepare for what I felt today. I start school in an hour or so and that's where it all happens. Every memory I make there in the past few weeks make me want to forget.

A sigh escapes my lips as I stare at the mirror. Average.

Nothing on me is spontaneously beautiful or gorgeous. It's all average.

I stare at the mirror some more, slightly frowning at the little flaws that make one whole. I have freckles that greatly conquer my face and a few acne here and there. It all blend out too. Great. It looked like I had a bunch more freckles.

My reflection had unruly brown hair that curled everywhere. Her eyes seemed duller and dark like the bags that brought a dead unattractive look. My lips where chapped between a shade of dark pink and light. My brows where little caterpillars above my eye sockets, just furry little things.

Imperfection

* * *

I remind myself today I would brush off and forget. Today I will let my flaws roam. Settling on brushing my hair and let it down in its waves I put on light hunter green converse.

I grab my hand bag and the book I found a few minutes ago and walk out of my room closing the door lightly behind me.

I trudge down and when I reach the last step I meet Silas. He stands stiff as a plank of wood looking around. When he hears my steps he turns to where I stand. He stares and I feel like the caterpillars are hatching in my stomach. Do I look presentable? Of course not.

But why should I care? I don't care.

Then why is he staring?

"Oh, Audrey aren't you staying for breakfast." Andrea spoke from behind me.

That's why.

Feeling the little insects wiggle even more, I straitened my posture and turn my head. "No I'm not hungry." I glanced back just in time to see his eyes flicker behind.

"Oh! Hello, I'm Andrea, Audrey's older sister and you are."

"Silas."

"Well what..."
